Can someone please give the link and the directions for checking your DVC deeds in Orange County?

I want to make sure a new resale purchase is titled the same. My question is the differentiation between "Tenants by Entirety" (Husband and Wife) and "Joint Tenants with Rights of Survivorship."

It seems to me that when we bought stock it was titled as the second, but when I look at what I have from Disney previously it says "Husband and Wife."

It seems to me that someone, maybe Bill? also puts their DVC membership number on the papers to alert Disney that this is the account that would be receiving the additional points. I never have done that, but I have contacted DVC when, if the contract passes ROFR. If you've done that, which papers do you put it on, the agreement of sale?

Thank you.

Thank you, but I also need directions! Years ago I did this, but now I don't know what to do.

OK...I figured out how to see them, but still, they only have our names...not either of the other designations.

Thank you Doc.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, so I don't know to answer. I know each of our deeds is labeled "Husband and Wife." Before we submitted our first deed, I spoke to a CM with DVC's Quality Assurance and specifically asked what "Husband and Wife" meant in terms of inheritance. The CM assured me that by using the phrase "Husband and Wife" if one member of the couple died, the surviving spouse would inherit the deed.

We have used the Timeshare Store for each of our resale purchases. Each time, I have let the broker at TSS know that we are current members and that we want to add the new deed to our existing account. I also let the agent with Magic Title (which usually handles the closing for TSS resales) know that we want the new deed to be added to our existing account. We've done three resales, and each time the new deeds were added to our existing account without a problem.

This helps. Thank you! I do see that on the deeds direct from Disney, they mention "Husband and Wife" but the resale information that came uses those additional words.
