I have a few questions regarding Twinkle Hope’s La Ti Da Royal Spa at GKTW.

Bit of backstory....

We ordered the vacation planning DVD from WDW so Faith could have video to watch. Naturally one of the very first things she spots is BBB. Now, all she talks about is how she wants to be turned into a princess.

That is great, and I want her trip to be as magical as possible. BUT....

Due to her 18p- she has a very distended stomach and it is almost impossible to find off the rack dresses, or anything that buttons, snaps or zips that fits her. Now add in that her feet are extremely wide and often quite swollen with edema. We have never found a pair of "dressy" shoes she can wear. She also has extreme sensory issues. She does not like her hair or face touched.

Do you see my problems with BBB?

So I am trying to get creative to make her Princess still happen and I am open to any ideas y'all might have!

What is done at Twinkle Hope’s La Ti Da Royal Spa?

Does anyone know if it is possible to paint Crocs? I think I could make them silver sparkly.

Anyone know of a source of sensory and size friendly Princess outfits? I am thinking of something like soft bike shorts with satin skirt paired with a Tshirt that is made to look like dress top. Am I dreaming here?

Then maybe we could make some magic happen at the Royal Spa. Nails? A tiara placed?

Thank you for any help!

I'd suggest looking at Etsy

There are people sells ng pre-made items there, but also many do made to order and could make something to her measurements.
They can also take her sensory issues into account and make something without elements that would be irritating to her.

What about a tutu skirt with a t-shirt. I know they offer that as an option (and sell similar outfits in the Disney store and elsewhere).

The Barber shop doesn't do tiaras but i think they still will sprinkle pixie dust on kids.

The spa in the Grand Floridian does princess makeovers as well, and you can choose to bring your own outfit for her to wear afterwards. That gives you many options.

Oh! Good to know! Do you have to stay there to utilize the spa?

you can also just walk up to the kiosk at BBB and ask to have one of the Fairy Godmothers in Training pixie dust her (with as small amount of pixie dust as possible). That may be all she really needs - that little bit of magical fairy dusty to make her feel like a princess. And it's something they do all day long, for free. (for anyone)

There's a store on Main Street that sells really pretty, sparkly tiaras. Of course they have good lighting to make them look extra pretty. What about letting her pick out one?

The gktw salon does basic makeup,, nail polish, and will airbrush a tattoo on her arm if u want. They dont do hair. Atbbb the hair and makeup takes a long time
And my daughter had two people working on her at once, one doing hair and one makeup.party city currently has soft stretchy shoes for each princess that ate $8, and some cute accessories too.

1) This is the volunteer info for the spa at GKTW. GKTW Spa
2) It will give you an idea of the activities/services.

Thank you! That is exactly the information I was looking for regarding the Spa at GKTW. :thumbsup2

And all the ideas so far are wonderful! I'll be able to help my little superhero feel like a princess for sure. :goodvibes

Have you thought about buying silver or glitter Crocs and adding rhinestone Jibbitz?

You can also get some Swarovski crystals and glue them onto the crocs or maybe flip flops. I use crystals all the time to decorate my old navy flip flops. I get the crystals off of eBay and use e-6000 glue from the craft store. Use a pair of tweezers to apply them.

So many fantastic ideas!

I think white crocs with some crystals glued on will make a fine pair of "princess shoes"!

She narrowed her focus down a bit last night and says she wants to be Snow White. "Because she looks like me!".

Now to go hunt Etsy for some Faith-Friendly ideas!

On etsy there are a lot of princess running outfits, which might fit your needs.
Additionally if you search snow white hoodie you should be able to find one I found, It is a handmade fleece hoodie that looks just like the dress. It looks really comfy. It is really expensive, but is something she can probably wear more frequently than a costume dress.

I would not have thought to search for a running outfit so thank you for that idea! And I showed my DH that hoodie (at least I'm sure it's the same one)......he spit coffee and choked.

I don't know how your daughter would take to this idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.
A friends of mine has a daughter who has many different tubes at different locations and she wanted to be a princess at there last trip. They went to Walmart and got a cheap Cinderella dress ( who she wanted to be and right here at Halloween is the perfect time to find one). They cut it up the back and when they went to the park she wore it like a smock over her clothing( They also cut the top of the shoulders and put Velcro so they cut put it over some of her lines) . She sat in a wheelchair the whole time so this was very practical for them.
I know this will not work for alot of people, but it helped her out. She was able to get glitter sprinkled on her at the Barber shop on Main Street.

Anyone can call and make a reservation. Call ahead to talk to the manager about what your options are and if they have any recommendations. I forget what the package is called, but it's the only makeover package for girls (vs. a haircut).

Just a quick update...

We have a Snow White dress! Actually a tshirt with appliques to look like Snow Whites top and soft tutu with some bike shorts under!

So blessed to have found a mom on Etsy who will custom make this to fit Faith's shape. No squeezing her in or awkward, too tight in the tummy fit.

I love all the ideas you all are coming up with!

The idea about Etsy sounds good, but....I used to work for a craft store. Some of the best seamstresses I know do it for fun and the cost of supplies. Maybe just a visit to the local store and talk to one of the more mature staff, tell them you're looking for someone who sews. I'd start asking in the fabric area. Even if no one on staff sews, they may know hobbyists that do.

I think the advantage would be that someone local can visually assess better than someone only looking at measurements.
