Options for meal payment?

As many of us our doing, I've updated my analysis of the CS plan, adding a few OOP TS meals, versus using the Basic Dining Plan or just being OOP altogether. Based on the restaurants / food choices I think our family would make, the CS plan plus OOP TS would not result in any savings, and the basic plan would be about a $150 savings. So, our decision to use a meal plan will come down to convenience. If I do not use a dining plan, can I charge to a Visa, or do I have to charge to my room? And, if I charge to my room, will the restaurants give me a receipt? I want to be able to track what I'm spending as I go. Are there any other options for payment? Thanks a bunch! Michelle

yes, you can definitely use credit cards for your meals if you're not on the ddp. I know that in the past, when we charged things to our room, it did show up on a receipt at the end of our stay, but it seems to me it was not an itemized receipt, just the total charge. but you should be able to get an itemized receipt from the restaurant itself.
