Grandmom is tagging along, so we need reasonably priced options for five people. I typically check Hotels .com, but there's fine print that says the hotels/resorts may charge additional fees upon check-in for the additional adult, making it difficult to determine what we should book for our upcoming trips. For instance, I found a 2BR at Seralago (never stayed there before) for $75, but what fees would they charge? Other ideas?

Where have you gone with an extra adult? What types of fees have you gotten? We're looking at 1-2 night stays, so those week-long rentals are not helpful. (We'd rather not be stuck at Motel-6-type lodging.)

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

We got a 2 BR/ 2 bath suite at Staybridge Lake Buena Vista (about 1.5 mile from Downtown Disney) in May for $99/ night.

One BR had a king bed, the other had 2 queen beds. The living room had a pullout couch. There was also a full kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, etc. Dishes, pots, pans & silverware were stocked. Also, it was right next door to a Winn-Dixie supermarket.

You might want to check out this option. You'll need a car, though.

You could try Comfort Suites Maingate East. They have rooms with two queen beds and a pull out sofa microwave and fridge. They also have free deluxe continental breakfast with make your own waffles. I checked their site and they have $79.99 and $99.99 rooms.

I just looked up Staybridge... looks nice... and spacious! I could get a AAA rate for $99 - though that doesn't include tax... but when I was reading the reviews, I read there is a breakfast buffet included here. Is that right? I can't seem to find that info in the information on their booking site. If it includes breakfast, than that may be worth the extra cost with tax.

What about resort fees or parking fees for these? Were there any?

We stayed at Saralago and it was NASTY. i am not that picky either but when our socks were black in the room thats just gross. they have had bad reviews also. I like Hampton inn. there is one in Lake Beuna Vista. I stayed at the one near universal you get free hot breakfast and can make your own waffles. As far as sneaking in an extra person and not paying extras we bring in an air mattress and the kids fight to who sleeps on the stupid thing lol. I wont stay at a resort that charges to park because I bring my suv and pay to park at the parks anyways but thats me.

Is this 99.00 rate in slow season? It comes up over 200.00 a night for us. Now worldquest had some good rates for 2 bedrooms.

Have you looked on VRBO for a condo at Windsor Hills? I remember seeing some for fairly cheap when I was searching for a house. A lot of houses can be had for around $100 in the off seasons or if you have lots of time between now and when you go on vacation. The cheaper options will go fast.

Sites like hotels.com are great for finding a hotel with a great price, but after you find the ones that you like goto there own website and in most cases you can get it cheaper then the hotels.com site. Remember these sites have to make mony some how. the next thing i would look into is the armed forces vacation club if you know any one in military they can gift you a hotel they are for 1 week and sleep 6 to 8 for under $450.00 for the week includeing tax
