Oprah's Pomegranate Martini

Has anyone else tried these? We had them on Christmas Eve and thay are sssoooooo good! I'm planning to take the ingredients to a dinner party on Friday night and mix up a batch!

Oprah loves martinis—and this is one of her favorites!


INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
2 oz. Absolute Citron vodka OR white tequila
1 oz. Cointreau liquor
Cup of ice
Optional: Splash of sparkling water
Optional: Squeeze of lemon

Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish.

Is it hard to find pomegranate juice though?

I've gotten pomegranite juice at publix. I think it tastes very similar to cranberry juice, so I'm guessing that a pomegranite martini would taste much like a cosmo. We are having friends over for dinner tomorrow night and I think I'm going to try these!

I've made these for years - since Pom juice came out. I use bacardi O instead of cointreau, though

I found pom juice in the "health food" section at Kroger (grocery store). A friend told me they also sell it at Costco. Keep in mind you need a cup and a half for two drinks, so buy plenty of pom juice. I think it is sweeter than cranberry juice, but what do I know?!?

I always thought grenadine was the same thing as pomegranite juice!

Are they sweet drinks? I love my drinks sweet so I can't taste the hard liquor in it.

I do think there is a law about that. And the martini police can be ruthless!
