My opinon on opening night of Horror Nights is different than Metros. We spend all day there, rode all the rides..we super excited about the night. we went to Finegens (sp) at 4 and ate an appetizer and had a drink. About 530 we noticed RAIN. It was just pouring and did not let up. Ive been here for a week and it barely rained and now all of a sudden the sunny sky was nomore. We didnt go outside til about 545 and we had an umbrella. But only one for the 2 of us. We were all directed to Silent Hill about 6pm. No line since we were one of the first. I didn't think anything special about this house and I have played the games as well as watched the movie. When we got done with the house, everyone who was already done was at the end of the exit underneath a roof and noone would move. The workers said either to exit fully or to do the house again. I asked a worker if the other houses were open yet and she said everything is open. I was getting soaked since 2 people dont belong under 1 umbrella so i went to the Displicable Me shop and bought 2 ponchos. (16$ ow) We then made our way to The Walking Dead. I am a HUGE HUGE fan of the show and was super stoked about the house. Again, I didn't think it was special. About this time the park officially opened for everyone else. All youcan see is rain, some fog from the fog machine and several people RUNNING towards houses. We decided to try the Penn and Teller house. The queue part of the line was very LONG...the wait itself was about 20 minutes. As you were waiting in line, the rain was building up to puddles and everyone who was wearing shoes and socks were all ready miserable and a million times worse when they HAD to step in the puddles. I was wearing flip flops and even though i was walking slowly i was slipping so a majority of the night I had to walk barefoot. I am from Vegas so I wanted to try this house. It was okay, once again nothing special. We did house of horrors and i liked this house the best out of everything. I wanted to see what penny circus was about but my husband was afraid he was going to get sick and wanted to get out early.we headed towards gothic and dead end which had about a 20 minute wait each and i left it up to him if he wanted to do those or not and he didnt. he told me he will wait if i wanted to do the Rockit coaster so i did the single rider and was done within 5 minutes. its pretty bad *** in the rain :] We left about 830pm. The whole night was horrible because EVERYONE was soaked and shivering. No scareactors were out because of the rain. I saw several of the actors heading toward the entrance with vampire teeth in or carrying bags of costumes, probably heading home. I did see a couple girl nurses in costumes trying to sell blood bags. They were even wearing ponchos lol. I felt so bad for some of the workers who were directing traffic or at the entrance for the rides/houses because they were litteraly soaked from head to toe yet they still had to work.
I have been to universal horror nights Hollywood a couple times and everytime i LOVED it. i was a little disappointed this year cuz hollywood has the terror tram theme of walking dead this year and we wont be there. But i was still super excited to be at the ORlando version. It would have been so much better with no RAIN, and scareactors scaring the crap out of ppl in the street.
We did busch gardens yesterday and wanted to do the Howl O scream but then again i didn't want to waste the money if it ended up raining again so we passed. I just hope it doesn't rain on other ppl like it did on Friday because it was the most miserable time I have ever had in an amusement park. I hope you guys get lucky with NO RAIN. Sorry for my long version of the night.
