We are going on the 10 day Holiday cruise :cool1: and it arrives back on Dec 26th we are planning on staying at the world until either Jan 1,2 or 3 - I need some opinions with the following :

We don't want to go to a park on NYE at least not in the evening (to crowded for our 4yo and 2yo) but we want to be able to see the fireworks - I was thinking of trying to stay at a Epcot resort, but I own at SSR so should I book SSR for the whole stay and try and change for the last few nights at 7 months or is it very unlikely to come through and therefore I should just book SSR for 26th to 30th and cash rooms for NYE and the other nights at one of the Epcot resorts.

Am not sure what to do and I know I'm running out of time so thought I'd ask you guys - hope the rambling above makes sense

Won't PI be doing fireworks on New Year's Eve? If so, seems SSR would be a good place to be on NYE.

Best wishes -

We were at SSR this NYE and it was wonderful. We scoped out a spot on the the top floor of a building (Springs, I think)where we could see fireworks from all three parks, then moved to the end of the building for the PI fireworks, which were awesome. It was a wonderful evening and it was great not to have to fight the crowds.

I agree about SSR for NYE. We have spent the last 2 NYE's at SSR and it has been wonderful!! We rung in 2005 on our Congress Park balcony watching the PI fireworks. For 2006 we attended the Congress Park NYE Party and watched the PI fireworks from the pool/hot tub.

From the fireworks viewing area, you can see the PI and Epcot fireworks.

PI will still have NYE fireworks because they are always sold out for their NYE events.

We prefer not to be in the parks on NYE, so SSR is our NYE tradition.

My mistake I thought the fireworks at PI had stopped - that must just be the nightly ones then - thanks
