I'm starting to plan a trip for late 2014, so no discounts out yet and can't even find room rates yet , debating between DDP and DDxDp. There will be two of us, both adults. It will be our honeymoon so thinking of a couple signature restaurants. Wondering if deluxe plan will be way to much food. On the DDP we have always had plenty of credits but I was traveling with a group and my teenage niece and nephew would share meals a lot. We are thinking of staying club level so won't be using credits for breaksfast. Thanks for the advice and opinions

Did the Deluxe three times.
Feel like I am lucky to be alive afterwards. :sad2:

It is waaaaaaay too much food, especially if you are staying Concierge and won't be interested in breakfasts.

Even with a couple of signatures, the DxDDP is too much. We've used it for a regular (TS or QS) and a Signature each day, and by about day three we are so over the eating. My ex was 6'4 and over 300 pounds, at home would eat all of his and the rest of mine every time - and he was waving the white flag about three days into that trip. I think he and I came home with about 27 snack credits' worth of trail mix and krispie treats. On a different trip, with my mom, we were cancelling ADRs left and right after a few days because we just couldn't imagine eating again.

If you make your plan, and it looks like you might be a couple TS credits short because of Signatures, try running the numbers with you paying cash for one of those, and you're almost certain to come up way ahead of the extra cost of DxDDP (as opposed to regular DDP) for all of your nights.

If it was my honeymoon, I'd actually feel better off for having more flexibility of plans and not having to adhere to so many ADRs, too.

I disagree that the DXDP is too much food in general. We've always done it and found it to be fine food wise. I'd run some numbers but I'd probably go with the DDP or OOP. We do a QS lunch. If we did that and a signature dinner I still, think DXDP would cost more.

I don't know if this will help you, but I currently have free dining (pin) and have been considering dxdp too. We currently have 4 meals we will be paying OOP, and one of them is a 2 credit meal (CRT). Four us, adding the dxdp would be over $990. Paying OOP for Crystal Palace, Park Fare, CRT, and the Plaza will be around $550. We are not even close to the dxdp mark yet.

For us, we'd need to add 4 more meals and one of them should be signature to make it worth it.

I know you are not upgrading from one plan to the next, but the dxdp is very expensive. I thought we would be pretty close to needing it but I was wrong! OOP is still the way to go for us for those extra meals.

Thanks everyone !! Think I really need to run some numbers. Would like to have dinner at Narcoossee and Cali Grill and Brown derby and maybe do the hoop de do. I know hoop de do would cheaper oop. Thinking DDP and oop for a couple.

If doing CL, and no kids, and some 2 TS places, I think you are better off OOP.
