We are a large group who is staying at BLT for 6 nights. One night DH and I and our kids are staying at BCV to use up a small number of banked DVC points and to check it out.

We are planning an Epcot FW day with breakfast at Akershus (should they ever open up breakfast reservations for the first week of January!! :confused3), lunch at Le Cellier, and we have reservations for our group for a 650 dinner at Coral Reef. We've eaten there before, and feel that the food is 'meh' but the atmosphere is good, especially for the first-timers. With this plan, the family would all eat together, then head over to BCV (say 815ish) and maybe get in a bit of swimming if it is not too cold. OR we could split into two groups and have the other peeps eat at Coral Reef, and we eat at the Cape May Clam Bake. OR all of us could head over to BCV for the Clam Bake (but transportation back to BLT will mean a long night).

Part two, would you go late to Animal Kingdom park the next day to swim at BCV, or just head into the park near rope drop? We are hoping to book the Safari Adventure Grand Gathering, and if we can (they aren't available yet for January) then that includes a ride on KS so we won't need to get that ride done early in the day.

Anyway, feedback appreciated. I know it is weather-dependent and ADR-dependent. Thanks~

As far as eating together - I'm assuming that the reason you are going together, and to BE together. So seeing that Coral Reef is the only reservation you have with everyone, I would #1 keep it, or #2 get a reservation at the Clam Bake all together. Though depending on how large your group is, I doubt you would be able to all eat together there.... I remember only booths....

As far as swimming - Your going in January.... not likely!!! We went in Dec/Jan a few years ago, and we were lucky not to freeze the entire time we were there. Of course one week it could be 80 out, and the next it could be 40... luck of the draw. Either way, if it were me, I'd plan on being at AK at Rope Drop.

If you're thinking of bringing the group to swim at Stormalong Bay, only those who actually have BCV room keys will be able to do that.

I've seen large groups at Cape May. Against one (at least) of the low walls there is a configuration with a single row of booths, tables and chairs opposite the booth seating. I'm guessing there were at least 16 people at that table(s).

I love Cape May Clambake. Great crab legs, steamers and a good selection of non-seafood items. Just my opinion but I think the food at Cape May is MUCH better than Coral Reef.

Ok good, so they can do it. :thumbsup2 I've only gone there as a party of 4, and I never noticed anything other than the booths.

Thanks for the opinions. We actually are eating together for every other meal while we are there.
