I have been working on my final list for ADRs for December 3-7 to send to Juanita at AKL concierge (who is wonderful, BTW :thumbsup2 ), and was hoping to get your opinions.

This is the first real trip me and my BF will be taking together (we travel a lot together for business, but it just isn't the same...) and I am hoping, hoping, hoping to impress him, or at least keep him in a good mood :rolleyes1

Since we will be staying concierge, we decided that breakfast was unnessecary (will just partake of pastries, coffee, and juice), and that we will have a large lunch and just graze on CL appetizers at dinner, since this is how we normally eat anyway. BF hates anything too fancy, hates servers that hover, and hates children with bad manners (hates anyone with bad table manners, actually, though his leave something to be desired  ) BF is also on Adkins (sp?) so anything Italian is out just because.

So, here is my proposed lineup:

DEC 3: Arrive at resort at noon, ADR at LTT for 2ish (hopefully we can see parade when finished)

DEC 4: ADR at LeCellier for 1:00

DEC 5: ADR at Hollywood Brown Derby for 1:00

DEC 6: ADR at Rainforest Cafe for 1:00

These are all subject to us actually getting them, of course. Please tell me what you think and offer any hints or suggestions you might have.

Thanks

Amy

Those are all really good places for lunch. I think you have some good choices!

I would like to suggest that even though you are staying concierge, you might want to give Boma a try for dinner since you are at AKL. There is a lot to choose from and it's just such a neat atmosphere.

DEC 3: Arrive at resort at noon, ADR at LTT for 2ish (hopefully we can see parade when finished) -- I like LTT. Another option is the Crystal Palace. That is a must-dine for me on every trip.

DEC 4: ADR at LeCellier for 1:00 -- I like Le Cellier. Another option is the Rose & Crown for dinner. That is a must-dine for me on every trip. Try to get an ADR around 8-8:15pm. Arrive early and request a patio table (and tell them you won't mind waiting for one). This way you can have a great meal and enjoy Illuminations from the comfort of your table.

DEC 5: ADR at Hollywood Brown Derby for 1:00 -- I like the 50's Primetime Cafe. The food and the service are great. That is a must-dine for me on every trip.

DEC 6: ADR at Rainforest Cafe for 1:00 -- I'd skip here, as you can go to one closer to home. Why not try O'Hana's for dinner, then head out to the beach to watch Wishes? Another option is the California Grill. Again, try to get a ADR about an hour or so from Wishes. This is an incredible place to view them either from your table or from their private balcony.

If you are staying at AKL you have got to try Jiko our favorite restaurant at WDW. If you like buffets give Boma a try in the lodge. You should really give one of these a try since you are staying at AKL. :)

I did not care for the food. I thought it was very much like food you get at a chain restaurant like Applebees, TGIFridays or Houlihans.
Very nice atmosphere, though.

I agree with 'Ohana for dinner. I would think Atkins people would do well here- lots of meats.
Your others are good!

Atkins = O'hanas. Meat on a stick. Your choice of Turkey, Pork, Sausage, or Steak. Try them all. And have shrimp as your appetiser!!! :woohoo:

The first two sound good, but I've had bad experiences at Rainforest. IMO, it's not as good as the Disney Restaurants. :wizard: :wizard:

YEAH! BF just decided to read the UG :cheer2: Now, instead of making me plan the whole trip, he has added his two cents. Our new list (which I love but thought he would never approve of, esp. the last choice) is as follows:

Dec 3: Boma

Dec 4: Le Cellier (lunch)

Dec 5: Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)

Dec 6: Shula's  (I LOVED Shula's when my dad and I went three years ago; I hope it is still as good. BF wants to try and eat the giant steak  )
