Hi,

DH and I are hoping to buy a JVC Everio camcorder to record every single second of our fab trip :teeth: The cheapest we've been able to find the camera is at Pixmania.com and we were wondering if any of you had ever purchased a camera or camcorder from them and if so what you thought of them? Are they reliable? Do they deliver in 48 hours like they say?

We're off in 14 days (and 23 minutes!) and wouldn't want to be disappointed if they have issues with delivering on time etc.

If you have bought from anyone else and were happy with their service/prices please let me know!

Thanks!

Eloise

I'm not really a person who has any experience in Video Cameras (or any camera at all!), but it is my opinion that cheapest is NOT always better. Best plan is to set yourself a limit as to how much you'll spend on one, and then choose from the best value for your money. Thus way, we can expect good pictures from you. :teeth:

Sadly the camcorder is not cheap but pixmania is the cheapest price I have found for it online! :thumbsup2

Sorry no knowledge of Pixmania, but have considered using them before and thought they look ok.

I recently got an SLR lens from Jessops, and paid for next day delivery and it arrived on time the following day. Also, they have an online offer of 10% off at present, so may be worth considering. Looks as if they have a JVC Everio, but not sure if it is the correct model - here

My BIL bought a camcorder and camera from Pixmania and had no hastle at all. I bought my camera from Dabs.com and was pleased with the service.

DH has used Pixmania in the past for computer items and they were no problem at all, we are going to use them again if their prices are good :)

Claire ;)

We bought our digi camera from pixmania and had no problems at all :thumbsup2

QVC are doing this one as a TSV JVC GZ-MG77EK 30GB Hard Drive 2MP Camcorder Widescreen LCD & 10X Optical Zoom
QVC Price £779.25
Today's Special Value £643.92
gives you a good idea and tops on how to use it

same one is coming up at £499 on Pixmania

DH has bought numerous stuff off pixmania and never had any problems, the stuff is always delivered when it says it will be.
Jules

Thank you all for your advice, I will definitely be buying from Pixmania they are almost 30% cheaper than anywhere else.

I shall have hours and hours of Disney fun to bore everyone with when I get back :lmao:

I bought my DH a digital camera through the Pixmania site in December 2004 - no problems at all. I do remember the postal/delivery charge as being a bit hefty, and then when we received the camera discovered it was sent over from France! But the camera is great and I would recommend them :)

Pixmania are a France company so just make sure the instructions are also supplied in English as well as the French. ;)

We've had no problems, bought from them on several occasions and always delivered promptly.

please let us know you get on

Ive bought a few cameras from Pixmania, and would have no qualms about doing so again. However they do sell what I would loosely class as "grey imports". You are likely to get European spec products rather than UK spec products, so the likes of the plug on the charger not being a UK plug is likely to occur.
Ive used the words like and likely far too often there.

We're ordering camcorder this weekend, will let you know how we get on, thanks again everyone for your advice. :thumbsup2

I hope the stuff comes from France or even Portugal would be ok, any other country and the instructions might be beyond me! :rotfl:
