Hi everyone, We are staying offsite from Disney for the first time and we are looking for a great pool for kids. We have two boys, 10yrs. and 12yrs. We stayed at CBR and CSR the last 2 years and the boys were at the pool at least 2-3 hours a day. I have checked out some nice resorts in the Orlando area on line. Pictures dont show a whole lot however. We would like a place with pool slide(s) and the more tropical the better (loved CBR's palms & beaches). Thanks for your help:worship:

My kids ( 15,12 and 8 at the time) absolutely loved Storm-along Bay at the Beach Club. They loved the huge slide that starts at the top of a pirate ship - they loved the sand bottom - they loved the waterfalls - and every afternoon the had music and activities. Its a great pool.

Stayed at Hilton Bonnet Creek last month. Almost as close as on-site. Loved the pool area. Zero entry pool, lazy river, water slide. We really enjoyed it and would go back again.

As far as pool and kids, you can't beat the Nick Hotel in my book. But I would stay during the week, the weekend is extremely crowded.

I have checked out that new one online.. http://www.cocokeywaterresort.com/ and am somewhat confused on how it works. I checked a ressie for 7/27-8/1. That is a total of 7 nights.. and this is what the details comes up as.. (to me it seems that you do not have access of their "water park" all 7 nights). Or am I just reading it incorrectly?

I also saw this in a travel magazine today.

It got some good reviews when I checked into it but they mentioned the timeshare pitch that so many Orlando area hotels have, just got to have a backbone.

Looks like you've read it right, might be worth a phone call to them since they just opened. Maybe the websites correct, maybe it's not :confused3

Thanks for the great replies, I checked a few of the suggestions and they do look awsome. The Liki Tiki looks very tropical and fun.... If anyone has others please let me know.

Liki Tiki has a lot of slides and things to do in their pool, but we found there was not enough space just to swim around. It also was extremely crowded every day (first week of June).

Last August we stayed at the Caribe Royale, which is right at an entrance to Disney property. It has a slide and waterfall, but the pool is also pretty big and it never felt crowded to us.

I am also researching resorts with the best pool for my teenagers. I was considering Orange Lake Resort, because it has a lazy river and waterslides.

FIRST OF ALL... DH AND I STAYED AT BOTH... LIKI TIKI AND ORANGE LAKE...

LIKI TIKI IS NICE BUT THE POOL IS NOT THAT BIG.. PICTURE IS DECEIVING..

ORANGE LAKE IS A VERY BIG RESORT... WE LOVE IT... THE POOLS ARE BIG.. AND THE LAZY RIVER IS BIG BUT.. IT GETS CROWED... SO IF IT CAME DOWN TO LIKI TIKI AND ORANGE LAKE ...

ORANGE LAKE WINS HANDS DOWN...:rotfl2:

WE ALSO ENJOYED SHERATON VISTANA ... THEY HAVE A FEW POOLS.... AND ALSO BIG... I THINK IT MIGHT EVEN BE BIGGER THAN ORANGE LAKE... ALSO IN POOL WISE TOO.... THERE ARE A POOL OR TWO MORE THERE...CHECK OUT SHERATON VISTANA AND ORANGE LAKE...

I have been torn about Orange Lake...and have not yet booked it. I like the idea that it has waterslides. I would appreciate any information that you have to help me make a decision. Also, if you have a good suggestion where to book through, I would also appreciate that as well.

You really have to look at the timeshare rentals and also orbitz, expedia and also travelocity usually have pretty good prices at times... So just keep checking also check out there website...

There is slides at orange lake even at the lazy river... North pool and there is a new pool at the west village... It used to be a olympic swimming pool but they redid it... Much nicer now... More tropical... I think...
