Opinions please: Planning 5-day April trip with no Park visits. Party will be 6 adults; myself and my wife, 3 adult children, grandmother. We can get 3 studios or standard inn rooms at Vero, or a 1-bdrm and a Studio at WDW ( Lots of options SSR, OKW, AKV, BLT.) we've been wanting to try VB, but very much prefer the accommodation options (i.e. 1 Bdrm Savanna view at AKV) at WDW Resorts. So....what would you choose?:confused::confused:

I have never stayed at zero but I would definitely go for WDW. AKL is such a great resort to hand out in, as would Saratoga or OKW. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Both are great choices, just totally different. If would consider the sleeping arrangements at AKV. If you are staying at Jambo House you will have one bathroom for the one bedroom but at Kidani Village you get two bathrooms in a one bedroom. Both will have a pull out couch that sleeps two and a pull out chair that sleeps one in the living room and a king bed in the master bedroom. Also with a one bedroom you don't have to eat out all meals but have the option of fixing some meals in the full kitchen. The Inn rooms or studios at Vero Beach have a microwave. I thought the studio at Vero Beach was fairly roomy, but then someone will have to sleep on a pullout couch.

Do you like the beach or just the pool? Do you want the option of all the restaurants at WDW? Will you be spending a lot of time in the room? A larger room will be nice but then you will have more people in there as well and those sleeping in the living will have no privacy.

If you choose Vero, & I probably would, April is a lovely month by the ocean in FL, I would pick Inn rooms because they have 2 queen beds in each, & there even are some that are internally connected. You could ask for 2 that do.

Well we have done both and are now doing split stays between the two. We enjoy Vero for the quiet time but then get to the parks for the excitement. There really is not a lot to do in Vero. We enjoyed the kayak trip, going to dinner, and relaxing by the pool and a walking the beach. That was about all. Just a leisurely place. I am looking forward to seeing the new restaurant. We enjoy it but it is on the quiet side.

I saw one father and his teenage son, spend two days in the water using boogie boards. They would just go back again and again. Of course we told the waves were higher than normal too. One of the daughters would join them from time to time as well. They even had uncle doing it too.

If you haven't been and you've been to WDW a number of times, I'd do VB if and only if you'll have a car. I'd do the Inn rooms at VB if you can't get a 2 BR. I wouldn't do a 1BR and studio separately if I could avoid it. VB is a place to relax and enjoy the pool and beach and there isn't much else close.

There are lots and lots of things to do in the Orlando area that wouldn't involve a visit to the WDW parks. Unless you are all big beach people, I'd do AKV, enjoy the resort, DS and then venture out to see some of the non-Disney things available in the area.

Have fun!

Thank you folks. I think you've helped us figure it out - VB inn rooms (w/a car), but AKV or even SSR is tempting with pools, etc to enjoy and DS to explore.

As far as VB, other than the on-site dining options, has anyone come across off-resort places they really like to eat?
