Are there any resale brokers to avoid, or to prefer? I see "The Timeshare Store," "***********" and others around. Any advice?

We've bought and sold a few different contracts, always using Jaki at atimeshare.com -- very happy with our experience there.

We used them as well, it they were great. I also have heard nothing but wonderful things about The Timeshare Store.

We are currently working with Jaki & **** at atimeshare.com and have received great service. Robert M. at The Timeshare Store and the folks at "*********" were both quite friendly and helpful as well. I would work with any of the above brokers and companies when we decide to purchase more points.

I've dealt with both- The Timeshare Store ansd Jaki at atimeshare.com. Both were great. Look online at both websites, decide on a contract to bid on, call that store.

Thanks! I'll check those out.

The contract that would work best for us is listed at "********." Has anyone dealt with them? What was your experience?

Hrm, consider the boards keep blanking out that name I have a feeling that you are putting in the name of a site that is not allowed to be mentioned here. (Don't know the history on that but have always been curious.

If it is who I think it may be I couldn't recommend her - completely nonresponsive to emails and phone calls. She completely wasted my time.

If you want to PM me I can let you know if we are talking about the same person/site.

Although I had problems with the closing service The Timeshare Store uses I would still recommend them. I have used them both to buy and sell.

Another great Timeshare Store experience here. Both Scot and Robert helped me through the process and it went smooth as silk.

Good Luck!

the timeshare store and jaki were great. we did not like xxxxxxxxxxx
good luck :cool1:

Thanks for the responses on the unmentionable place! That's what I come to the DIS for - sharing tips and info. :)

We used Jackie Muenzner at G M A C Inter national Properties....and we could not have been happier!!!!

We used Jackie at G M A C and she was wonderful. Positive experience all the way around! My sister-in-law purchased from Jaki from atimeshare.com. Wonderful experience as well. :thumbsup2

As for the TTS, I wouldn't have hesitated to purchase from them. I was working with them, but they just didn't have the contracts available at the time I was purchasing. We were working with Jerry Sydow and he was extremely helpful. The TTS seems to have great people who truly care about their clients. :thumbsup2

On a separate note, be careful when looking. Few time share stores seem to know how DVC works. They don't deal with it often enough and talk about "red weeks" and fail to mention "right of first refusal." Stick to the folks who know what they are talking about. They'll get you the best deal and usually ensure you get past ROFR. It's a long process to go through only to lose the contract back to Disney over a few hundred dollars.

We bought through the other company. (I think its the one being blanked out) Everything went well. We had seen HER website linked to another Disney website and signed up for her email newsletter service on DH's email account. When we got ready to buy, she had a 100 point Boardwalk listed that was right down our alley.

We asked about timeframes of when we should close, pass ROFR, etc., because we'd never done anything like this, and it all went as they said.

We called some at the appropriate times, but it didn't seem out of the ordinary for a real estate closing, and sooooo much easier than closing on a house!

I admit, sending a big check to something you'd only seen on a website was scary!:scared1: I would have said the same thing about TSS.

We started the process in December of '05 and closed in mid-January of '06. We had to pay maintenance fees for the year with closing costs, and don't know if that was customary for that time of year or not. It seemed to make sense.

We used Jon at GMAC becuase they had a contract we wanted at the time. We had no problem with them. However, if we decide to add on I will still check with the Timeshare Store first again due to reputation and knowledge.

We are using the TSS. Sending the deposit tomorrow... hopefully everything works out!!

We used The Timeshare Store for 2 resales.
Jamie was great and I would not hesitate to use them again.

I worked with Jaki at atimeshare.com. She was great. I was also on the wait list at The Timeshare Store. They were great to work with. They just didn't get a matching contract first. As it turned out they called me a couple of days after I closed with a contract that would have been an even better match than the one I ended up buying.
