Opinions on supermarkets near DLR?

Re-starting my research into where the nearby supermarkets are.

On my one previous trip I visited the Albertson's in Garden Grove, so I know where that one is and what to expect.

I see there's at least two Ralph's nearby, one to the west on Brookhurst and one northeast on Lincoln?

In researching Ralph's I see they also have a Food4Less brand, and there is one of those really close by on Katella.

Advice? Can't go wrong with any of these? :goodvibes

they're grocery stores, what do you want to know?

Yes, I know they are grocery stores, but as my subject and content says, I am looking for opinions and advice on them, if anyone has anything they'll like to share.

To elaborate further I'll add that I'm looking for specific opinions and advice on the ones I've mentioned, or about any others I don't list (and therefore don't know about).

I went to the Food4Less last summer and I couldn't get out of there fast enough...it seemed really sketchy - the parking lot was full of trash and the store itself smelled...i would avoid it and stick with one of the Ralphs

We stopped at the Food4Less on our trip in October and didn't have the issues the PP did. It seemed fine to us. It was close to the park and easy to get to.

The food4less is open 24 hours and we went at midnight last year... It is pretty sketchy after dark... But the prices made it well worth the trip...

Food4Less is not a typical grocery store. It's more warehouse like in design. They are like Winco in my area.

Target (not a typical 'grocery store) is nearby and they have a pretty decent grocery section

That was our experience as well. Dh and my brother went late to get snacks, beer, wine and water bottles and it was pretty scary.

We went to an Albertsons another time that was further up Katella and it was much nicer, thjat might be the one in Garden Grove you went to. I get mixed up where Anaheim ends and GG begins!

Food4Less had good prices but I'd avoid it after dark if possible.

We do our shopping at Von's because they deliver. You can schedule your groceries to arrive within the hour of your check-in and make it dead simple.

I know if you stay at the GCH they have a place to store groceries they receive from delivery (with refrigerators) so you can schedule Von's to deliver an hour or so before check-in and you can have your groceries and luggage brought up to your room at the same time. Can't beat it.

This is what we do as well. When we stayed at GCH, they accepted the groceries before we checked in. We're staying offsite this time and were told they'd only accept non-refrigerated items. We're going to still use the delivery service and opt for a 1-hour delivery window so we can receive the items.

It seems so much simpler than driving around an unfamiliar town for us.

Thanks to everyone for the opinions and advice. Exactly what I was looking for. :goodvibes
