Opinions on Sci-Fi

See... I think everyone needs to try it for themselves!
We tried Sci-Fi back in 2005...not knowing what to expect...well, we went back on the same trip! We loved it. we love the ambiance, the food isn't bad and it's worth it - IT'S DISNEY! It's a must do for us every trip!

See...Mama Melrose... we didn't really LOVE all that much but we only went once. But it wasn't bad per say.

Try it and see for yourself!

Thanks everyone. I did make an ADR and will keep it. I know there will be mixed reviews, but if 2/3 of all reviews are positive, I'm more likely to give it a go. I was just worried because the UG gave it such a negative review and many times I've agreed with their assessment of things so it worried me....that is why I came here for your opinions! Thanks again....and I'll be sure to get the milkshakes!

TRY IT!!!

We have eaten there EVERY time we have gone and have never been disappointed. Now saying that...we stick to burgers usually. My son had ribs once and was not really impressed (especially for the money). This time everybody had a cheeseburger and one son had the reuben and everybody loved it (AGAIN)!!! My husband and I have even decided that next time we go (there is always a next time ) we will share the cheeseburger (they are really big).

Up until this trip we have ALWAYS eaten at 50's PT also. Last year's experience was not great, so everybody voted to pass on it this time. Maybe in a couple of years it will be enjoyable again.

But try what you want to, don't listen to others opinions, because nothing makes everybody happy.

With the right expectations (perfectly adequate bar food), it's a hoot. It's not fine dining by any stretch, but it's fun.

I agree that you are paying for the atmosphere. (It's just too cool.) Sandwiches and burgers are a better way to go if you want to cut that check down a bit.

We loved it! The combination of atmosphere, air conditioning and decent food made it one of our favorite meals. We just had burgers, a reuben, fries, onion rings and shakes but they were all fresh and tasty.

I have to agree with one of the other posts. We have had both good and bad experiences. The best was when we were'nt on the DDP. We had a absolutely horrible experience when on the plan though....rude waiter...slow service...luke warm food....honestly would have never gone back if not for the 1st experience.

This is one of our favorites, but I do agree that we go for atmosphere, rather than the food. That's ok with us, though.

DH & I went to Sci-Fi in November when we did a day trip to MGM(DHS) and absolutely loved it. We dropped in on a whim & managed to snag seats in one of the cars. The food was great - DH had a rueben and I had chicken sandwich. We got the onion rings which were superb & of course I had to be a "kiddie" and get the drink with the glow in the dark "Tink"!! Plan on another visit there in a couple of weeks just for the food!!

Ohhh and now I can't wait to go back! It's our first reservation on our day of our arrival - yeah!
I won't eat lunch hahah
