Opinions on Restaurant Marrakesh?

We were there last week and it was one of our favorite meals. The hummus is, quite honestly, inferior to what I could buy at a grocery store, but everything else was wonderful. One of our party had a beef dish that included raisins and caramelized onions, I believe it was served over couscous - I tried to get the recipe (they sell a cookbook there) but it's too new to be included in the cookbook. The waiter said it was a traditional dish and we should be able to find the recipe, but I don't remember what it was called and it's not listed on the menu at All Ears. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Sounds like Mrouzia Beef.

We at lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh last Sunday with a 2:45 ADR. Granted that's near the end of lunch service. There was no belly dancing since it was lunch time and off hours. It was not at all crowded and a very peaceful respite. I found the service friendly and helpful and the food was tasty. It wasn't gourmet but it was nicely presented, plentiful and the quiet was a premium.

I enjoyed the option to have a nice salad with feta for my appetizer and grilled chicken kebobs for my entree and a fresh fruit with a small scoop of ice cream for dessert. It was nice to have something lighter. DH and DS had a seafood brewat roll and DD had a beef roll and they were OK but I think the fried foods is a little heavy for touring. The boys had a sultan's sampler each and DD had lamb. Our thoughts were "We wouldn't always do this at home so what the heck and if we don't like it then there's another option every 15 feet around the World Showcase." We left sated and happy.

One other note: I don't let eating at this, or that restaurant, make or break my vacation. I let the time I spend with my family and the fun we have make the memories. We had fun here but we'll probably try something else next time.

Just to let people know that the bellydancer does come out during lunch hours. I think you were implying that the belly dancer didn't come out because it was at the end of lunch service, but just in case someone misunderstood, the bellydancer does come out at lunchtime as we have seen her.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

It's very easy to find the times for the belly dancer. I think they basically stay the same every day and you can look them up on Steve Soares' site. Also, if you call Disney Dining, they should be able to tell you too.

Loved it and always make a point to go on every single trip.
We have always had exceptional service and have had fabulous food each and every time :)

Great atmosphere but horrible food! I love ethnic food and this was by far the worst meal of our entire trip! We ate at Germany's Oktoberfest and loved it...but Marrakesh gets a thumbs down from me :sad2:
