Just thought I would share my opinion on some things.

Cat 6 - We have sailed in a Cat 8 and now a 6. We hardly used the verandah and for us it was not worth the extra $$. I was so busy doing everything we never got to relax on the balcony. I have 2 little ones so we were always on the go.

Onboard checkin- This was great for us. We didn't have to search for our bags and were able to just get on the bus.

Shows- The Golden Mickeys and Dreams were GREAT! I didn't get to see the others as I was so tired! They did have a few matinees though!

Servers- I was really nervous seeing our first servers in 2007 were Amazing. But our servers this time were just as great and lots of fun! So give new ones a try!

Clubs- They are great, my girls 3 and 6 had a blast and I never never worried. I got a page once because my daughter wanted to see her sister, but by the time I got there she told me I could leave and that she was fine. :confused3

Key West - Wasn't our thing, the kids were bored walking around and it was mostly touristy shops, and bars.

Grand Cayman - Swimming with the stingrays was Awesome! Highly recommend doing that!

Cozumel - Nachi Cocum.....Unfortunately I was not thrilled with this resort, the beach was pretty messy from the storms, and the resort itself wasn't what I had pictured. It was also raining the whole time, so maybe in the sun it would be totally different.

Disney Cruise - Definitely! We rebooked for for 2010~

Just a question about your onboard checkin. Did you book air travel through Disney or can you use onboard checkin for any airline and have Disney deliver your bags for you?

We booked the airfare on our own through Delta. It has to be a listed airline to use the onboard checkin (not sure of the list but I know its somewhere on the boards). My in laws used Southwest and weren't able to use it.

You must have booked DCL air OR Disney Transfers and use one of the participating airlines. We just did this for the 10/11/08 cruise and it was fantastic. Very simple.

Here is the link to the info on the DCL website.

Our first cruise we booked a verandah (1st time cruisers and we thought you had to) but our next 7 cruises have been Cat 11. We have not missed a thing ..... except the extra expenses.

Of course we spent it on other DCL things :lmao:

Ooooh tell me more~ I am really considering changing our 8 to a 10 or 11 I am just unsure of the small space!

Did you have enough space for your things? Do you have children (we have 2 small children).

I just don't want to feel claustrophobic, but we were really not in the room that much so it would just be at night I would be concerned about!

We have done a cat 11 both times. The only time we used our room was to change for dinner and sleep. We were able to fit our bags in the closet this time. When we went in 2007, we had a few extra bags from the land portion. But still no problem.

Cozumel. We went to Nachi Cocum 2 years ago...and it rained all day...just like you. With rain, there is really not much to do. I'd prob go again but wouldn't be my first choice.

Veranda. We've had a veranda 2 years and a 11 the others. We have two small little ones and to us, the money savings is worth it.

Key West. Other than the Key Lime Pie on a Stick...not a very memorable stop. We usually just get off briefly and treat it like a sea day.

Hope you had a great trip!

A cat. 8 & cat. 10 are the same size cabins. In fact, cat. 5-10 are all the same size. Then a cat. 11 does not have a split bath, we had that once and missed the split bath.

Do you have your navigators and is there any chance you'd like to share? We are going in Dec and I am dying to get an idea what will be going on....
TIA

We did have a great time! Can't wait to go again in 2010!

Glad someone shared my opinions! :)

I think I will go and change to an 11 or 10...not sure the difference in those 2 rooms but I think the 4 of us will be ok. We saw lots of families in the inside staterooms so it can't be too bad! ;)

You know I would love to share them, however my crazy neighbor took ALL of them to look at! :rotfl:

There was alot of the same things from 2007 going on:
Tea with Alice (which was Wendy in 2007)
Kite Making
Mr. Toads Wild Race
Vegetable racing
wine tasting
towel animal classes
the crab races on CC looked like fun
Pin trading
Bingo (which is a little different and has electronic cards)

If I get them back I will scan them, but I'm sure someone else can beat me to it! Sorry!

Good to know! I think I would miss the split bath, so a 10 would work and thats great that its the same size as an 8 because we definitely had enough room in there!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We cruise in December. I am enjoying hearing about everyone's experiences before our cruise.

Regarding Key West, my husband is a big history buff and wants to do the Truman excursion (sightseeing of historical places). Has anyone done this? Will it be boring for a non-history person?
