Opinions on Glenbrook Resort vacation homes????

Has anyone stayed at Glenbrook Resort vacation homes?


We are 99% sure we'd like to try a Storytime townhome in Windsor Hills but I'm still looking around. (I'm probably making this so much harder than it has to be but I want to make sure I look at several places)

The rooms are not Disney themed and the decorating is very basic compared to Storytime. (I can Disney-it-up like I did when we stayed at Vistana Villages) but the pool is bigger and it has a spa. There is a gameroom in the garage and the price is comparable to Storytime townhomes.

The resort looks very basic, though...compared to Windsor Hills. Not really sure if we'd need the resort attractions but want to keep it all in mind.

My main issue is that I know many people on this board has stayed at Windsor Hills but I haven't read anything about this resort or this particular house. Does anyone have any input on either?

My uncle owns a home there, and I stayed there once on the "family discount".

Your basic decision is whether you'd rather be farther from Disney without the same "resort" amenities, in exchange for a larger home, with more "in-house" amenities, including a "real" pool and a spa. Personally, with a very well-equipped home (private pool, game room, etc.) the presence or absence of "a big resort pool" is not a big factor for us---when we are at Windsor Hills with 'a real pool' at our house, we rarely make it to "the main pool".

My one caveat: if you expect to go back and forth to the parks twice in the same day, I would stay in the townhome and do without the extra amenities. Glenbrook is just far enough away to make a mid-day break a little unpleasant. If you are only going back and forth once each day, then it probably doesn't matter as much.

Edited to add: we tend to take mid-day breaks. For us, the townhome is a better fit.
