I'm sure this has been asked 84,000 times before...but I'm attempting to be budget minded for our trip this year. Perhaps I'm more thinking aloud...(i'm in the early planning stages for our August trip). My family has never done Disney without the meal plan. I got to wondering why this is...my step daughter will be 11 this year. She would be on the adult plan and would never eat that much food...let alone the type of food offered for adults. She is a plane jane, very bland food kind of girl. It doesn't seem to make much sense to pay for her to eat adult meals and then spend the whole trip asking if she can order off the children's menu.
Aside from that issue, every year I marvel at how much food we are truly eating in general...and are we even hungry as each scheduled meal comes along? both my step kids are very light eaters...they don't care about food all that much in general. At 11 and 8 they are growing out of character meals...

So...the question is, would we eat as much if we hadn't already paid for it up front?
has anyone ever done the math on this? Or made any general observations?
Just wondering.
Of course if free dining is offered for our dates in August then it doesn't really matter all that much! fingers crossed! I really love planning ADR's!!!

), but it wasn't for us.
Even if you didn't want to do any TS meals, you'd still come out ahead by getting a free QS and a snack.
Here's hoping you get
