Opinions on Dining Choices Needed

OK folks. Here's my list of dining choices. Please let me know what you think!

Kona
LeCellier
Hollywood & Vine (for Fantasmic package)
Marakeesh
Tappan Edo
Hoop Dee Doo Review
Character Bkfst. at Crystal Palace

We've been to LeCellier and H&V in the past. All the others will be new to us and would like some opinions! Can't wait!

OK, we've done all of these, so I'll give you a short capsule on my opinion of each one:

Kona - A must do every trip. Great food and just being in the Poly Great House is great. Recommend everything on the menu.

LeCellier - Last year it took us more than two hours to get through a lunch at LeCellier. I think it's overrated. It's not bad (and I love the cheese soup), but too slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

Hollywood & Vine (for Fantasmic package) - Our family voted this the worst meal we've ever had at WDW. The Fantasmic part is well worth it, but I much prefer the Brown Derby.

Marakeesh - Didn't particularly care for this one. But I'm not a curry kinda guy. But my wife didn't like it either, and she loves Indian food. I'll chalk it up to a bad day because this place gets lots of good reviews.

Tappan Edo - One of my favorites. Make sure you get a side order of steamed Edamame. Yum!

Hoop Dee Doo Review - Corny, corny, corny. And fun, fun, fun. And the fried chicken is excellent. And, of yeah, the Sangria is quite tasty at the end of a hot day. The show is a blast, but it's corny, corny, corny. And fun.

Character Bkfst. at Crystal Palace - Decent breakfast fare, good character interaction, and hopefully you get to be in the MK when Main Street is deserted.

We've also done most, let see

Kona- first time was disappointed in the kids selection but appitizers and our entrees were good. Second time DH and I ate at the sushi bar in front of Kona and added appitizers from Kona to our dinner (loved it)

LeCellier - Had a nice enough dinner but was not overly impressed. The cheese soup was great. The Prime rib was so over cooked our dinner mate sent in back. I think the food is above average for WDW but the 40 min wait (with ADR) probably made us all cranky. Also we had eaten at Flying Fish the night before and had an absolute wonderful meal.

Tappan Edo - Our kids favorite meal of the trip. They were able to order real food and enjoyed the chef. We split a adult chicken teriyaki with two of the girls and I split my steak with another. There was more then enough food.

Hoop Dee Doo Review - What can I say, we had Thankgiving dinner there last year and the girls are still talking about it. We had great seats right at the stage and the food was good.

Character Bkfst. at Crystal Palace - This is our only must do Character meal. We have done a lot of different meals and we always go back to a 11:30am lunch. We get to the park early do all the big rides and get to sit down and have lunch with our favorite guys.

You've got a winning lineup there, OP. We've eaten at all your choices and like them all - H&V would be the weak link for me, but I'd still eat there.

If you've got a teppan-style restaurant nearby, I don't think you'll find Teppan Edo any better than your local joint. It's certainly not bad.

I tend to steer folks toward 'Ohana, too.

I agree! All your choices are good ones. It really is hit or miss with the food and service though. We have gone to all but Kona and the food and atmosphere/service was great! Love the Hoopdee Doo Review! Crystal Palace for dinner and Le Cellier was our favorite meal in December! Don't forget about the Wave and Jiko at the resorts...both are excellent
