I have 1 TS meal that I have not yet decided on. I originally booked LTT but since we won't be in the MK, decided to change it. This is actually a rest day so I thought we could explore the boardwalk and try the Clambake. I know ther's no lobster but we all love shrimp, so it sounded really good to me. Has anyone been recently or can anyone offer their opinion? I would really appreciate it. :)

it was really good. I mostly stuck with the regular food. It was one of my DH's favorites. He enjoyed the corn on the cob, muscles, etc. I thought the new england clam chowder was yucky. We prefer manhattan clam chowder.

I love this buffet! I make it a point to eat there every trip I take. If you like clams you will just love it here! They also have pasta and great ribs. There is so much food to choose from anyone can get full here seafood lover or not. The only thing I am not that big on is the dessert buffet. I say give it a try. :thumbsup2

The seafood lovers in our family loved it!! And the non seafood eaters in our family loved it as well!!!! The other side of the buffet (no seafood) has very delicious options!!! Definitly a go again for us! :thumbsup2
p.s. The oreo bon bons are good enough to go for!!!!

The Cape May Clam Bake has such a wide variety of both seafood and non-seafood dishes that it's almost impossible not to find something you like.
This is a MUST for us each visit to WDW.

Ya'll have made my decision so much easier. We will definatley be eating at Cape May in June. I'm sure we'll all enjoy it especially my DD 2 yo. She could eat shrimp all day everyday! Thanks again :grouphug:

DH LOVES seafood - I HATE it but we both love Cape May. There's planty of choice for everyone.

We enjoy this restaurant and have eaten there many times.

YAY we are doing this on our trip and I too was concerned about it, but not anymore!!! You guys and gals are WONDERFUL!!! :cool1:

We vowed after our last trip to Cape May, this January we would never eat there again. Beef was small and dry and tasteless. Food was running out everywhere and not refilled that quickly. Ribs were overdone and rubbery. Two of us later were ill and really attributed it to the dinner there. It was very disappointing. Our bill was about $186. and frankly we all could of had much better meals at another restaurant!!!!

I must take a differing view point from most. It's not all negative. My wife and I for the longest time made this place a must eat everytime we were in the Disney area (we live 2.5 hours away in north FL). The last two times that we ate at the Clambake we were highly dissapointed. While I understand that prices can't stay the same forever, we now feel that it is way overpriced for the serious decline in the quality of the food. Please keep in mind we have probably eaten there over 20 to 25 times. It got to feel like a second home to eat for us!!!!! If you had asked this question 5 or 10 years ago, I would have had nothing but praise for the Clambake. Would I suggest the Clambake to someone? Of course!!!! Just because we have had some poor experiences with the quality of the food, that doesn't mean that someone else could go and have excellent food.

Hi lillygator. I think you were going to be the eastern cruise with us in Dec 04, but you had to pull out for some reason. Also, if you remember, I was born and raised in Sarasota so I agree Siesta Key has the best beach sand in the WORLD!!!!

Went for the first time in November. We thought it was just okay. The freshness level wasn't quite what I would have expected and quite a few of the offerings were sort of bland. It wasn't horrible but we probably won't return.

Before our trip, I studied the restaurant reviews here and the menus on allearsnet.com and consequently, we didn't have a bad meal. But with that said, we enjoyed the Cape May Clam Bake the least. I heard that it was a so-so experience, but booked it anyway because it was convenient and fit into our plans on one particular day. (We were staying at Yacht Club, had been at AK all day and wanted to swim at SAB then have a late dinner.) It WAS super convenient, but since we had park hoppers, we could have walked 5-10 minutes longer and had better food at one of the Epcot WS restaurants.

What was good:

1. The Clam chowder
2. The dessert buffet, esp. the Oreo Bon Bons
3. Most of the "regular" food (non-sea food)

What was bad:

1. The shrimp (VERY VERY overcooked)
2. The mussels (a funny taste)
3. The clams (most of the shells were empty)

The other fish was a fish 'n chips type of fish which tasted okay, but they brought out only one skillet of 6 pieces of fish at a time, so it was hard to get any.

The best seafood I had at WDW was at Teppanyaki...we tried scallops and shrimp and they were cooked perfectly, and served to us immediately.
