We are staying at BWV in June, never stayed in the Epcot area. We were looking at the Big River Grill and Brewery, but I dont remember ever seeing anybody post anything about it. Does that mean its so-so? If I could just have some opinions, good or bad, that would be great. Have most of my ressies already and are spending a small fortune on food, so just kinda wanted an average evening out, not one to kill the pocketbook. If you have another suggestion in the mid range in the Epcot area, that would be great too. Thanks

It's pretty rare to see people say anything about it. The few reviews I've seen seem to indicate that it's just okay: not great but not awful.

We had issues. We were seated against the wall... as in, the chairs were right up against the wall/there was no elbow room at all. I have a picture that shows my arm pressed up against the wall somewhere. We also had a server that really really really seemed like he didn't want to help us. The food was decent, but we weren't impressed with the service or restaurant at all. And there were other tables open that weren't up against the wall, but for whatever reason, they wouldn't let us sit at one of them (they were still empty when we left).

We ate there on our last trip and we were completely underwelmed. We could see the kitchen from where we were sitting, and we saw a spoon sit on the ground for our entire dining experience. There was also a cloth napkin that was being stepped on and ignored for most of our meal. The food was so-so. Sorry if I seem negative, but it was not our best Disney dining experience.

Ooh me and DH2B were considering this one, but I don't think we'll bother now! Is ESPN any better?

We have eaten in Big River several times. It really is just okay, although my son really enjoyed his meal last time (maybe he was really hungry ;)). Although ESPN is your typical pub/bar food we have also eaten there several times and I would probably go with ESPN.

The Boardwalk area is awesome and we love staying there!!

Have a Magical Vacation. :thumbsup2

ESPN is horrible. It's the one place at WDW I vowed never to return to.

Big River is quite good. It's not high end gourmet food and is typical bar food, but does a good job with that. Also, the beers are interesting and quite good and service has always been fine. Finally, being able to enjoy a meal while sitting outside on the Boardwalk is great. I go to Big River for lunch at least once on every trip to WDW.

We went 2 years ago . It was okay no big deal. The food was okay. Didn't like where they sat us I felt like we were squeezed in the middle. I wouldn't go back or go out of my way to go here. But I always say try it once for yourself cause everybody has different opinions.

we've quite liked it as a luch each time we are staying at the beach club.
Its got good microbrew, although many are saying lately the microbrews there are not good.

I guess being from New England we have alot of crafty microbrewing going on that Big River seems to be the ONLY place on Disney property to get something similar.
Im no talking the Yulang type stuff either, you can get that stuff anywhere. Im talking good red ales that are nice and hoppy with a beautiful aroma.

Overall I will continue to have lunch here. Nothing beats sitting outside table with a Rocket Red Ale having lunch in the Hot disney sun and people watching over some good grub.

I stayed at the Yacht Club last November and walked over to Big River on the first night since it was close by. It was okay. The food was hot and served realtively quickly. Drink refills were plentiful. The only complaint about our server is that she was a little TOO chatty. In the hour we were there I learned all about a messy divorce, an overbearing mother, two children, and an upcoming road trip. I would compare the quality of the food to a Chili's or Applebee's - not bad but definitely not top quality. It served my needs at the time.

We went there for lunch last June and it was great-it was the one thing my husband was most looking forward to-he loves beer and especially enjoyed the rooster red! he ordered the beer flight so he got to try them all-I had the hazelnut chicken he had a burger and the food and desserts (chocolate cake!) and the beer soup were all great!

It was one of our fave meals we had the whole trip-we paid OOP for it and it was semi reasonable.

We hadn't been to the Boardwalk before that-and we fell in LOVE with the boardwalk, its so quaint, quiet, and beautiful (too bad we can't afford to stay there ha!)

The food was just okay for us too. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and I expected it to be better. I felt a little closed in myself, they sat us next to a large white pillar. I would go for ESPN Club instead :)
