Opinions of Parrot Cay please...

Excluding Palo, my faves in order are Triton's/Lumieres followed by AP, with PC a very distant 3rd. I agree with Dave and some others, that the ideal would be more like Bahama Breeze in both food and atmosphere. Obviously the Cuban Ribeye steak is not always the same. That was what I had in PC on my first cruise and it was DREADFUL - tough as shoe leather! I am just not one to complain and send things back, so I suffered through it. My fault. The next cruise, I asked my server for his suggestion and took it. I think it was supposed to be Jambalaya, but that is not what mine turned out to be. Another guest at my table had the same thing and agreed. I think the decor is okay, kind of fun, but could be more authentic-looking considering it is Disney. Still, I don't care. I REALLY enjoy all the other restaurants. I just try not to get stuck with PC if it can be avoided. :jester:

Thanks for all the opinions! Obviously, tastes vary and experiences vary. I am most looking forward to the menu at PC of the three rotation restaurants on the Magic. I think DW and DSD are least looking forward to the menu there!

WE cruised in June on the Wonder and enjoyed PC. Our two DSs like the tropical theme and the colors. We had it twice in our dining rotation and had an enjoyable meal both times (OK, the Master Chef meal was excellent!). Have heard many comments about PC and it seems as though you either enjoy it or you don't - one or the other, not many in the middle. We enjoyed it.

I liked Parrot Cay very much! The color scheme is terrific and so is the food! After our 1st Disney Cruise, the show at Animator's Palate became boring. They even did away with the great dessert they used to have there -- you got a palate plate with scoops of ice cream and in the middle of your table was a carrier of several plastic squeeze bottles of different colored and flavored syrups. You could "paint" your own masterpiece on top of your ice cream and they devour it! I still like Lumiere's the best, but then Parrot Cay and then AP. :p

Haven't cruised Disney yet, but the menu at PC looks great! I love interesting, different foods, and it looked the best. I am sooooo looking forward to the coconut shrimp! It is interesting that most people seem to rate AP as their least favourite (sorry, Canadian spelling) restaurant... I must book Palo for that night!
