We're traveling in December with our twin girls (4 yrs) and my sister's family who has a 4 yr. old. In your opinion, which resort would be best as far as transportation, theming, etc. We are looking at Deluxe Resorts or villas and have stayed at WL (only with my son; girls have NEVER been), which I love. But we're open to anything!

We just want to avoid time with cranky 4 yr. olds needing naps trading buses every stop to get them back to the resort.

Ideas? Stories? Opinions? Thanks in advance!

I think the best resort for you would be all-star movies. The kids will love the theming there. All 4 year olds will know Toy Story, Fantasia, 101 Dalmations. They will love it.

We love the Grand Floridian! I took my 4 and 6 year old girls there last year and they loved it so much! The rooms are large, bright and airy. The girls loved the victorian theme and the pools. We loved the convenience of the monorail. Both girls were too excited to nap, but we did come back every afternoon for a break. We only needed the buses twice, once to AKL and once to DTD. We spent the rest of the week at MK and Epcot just because they were so easy to get to and from. With the 4 year old, we didn't want to overwhelm her by staying late in the park to catch Wishes and deal with the mob afterwards. We enjoyed the perfect viewing of it right from our resort on a couple of nights. As soon as it was over, we just walked right back in to our room for a much needed sleep! We could also watch the Electrical Water Parade/pagent too. One of our best evenings that week was playing on the beach at night. The sand was cool and soft to their feet.

They loved it so much that's the only place they want to stay and we're headed right back there this summer!

what about the cabin at Fort Wilderness. There are bunks for the girls, a bunch of playgrounds, the campfire.. boat over to MK or you can drive ( you can park right at your cabin...We loved it!

Since you are looking at deluxe resorts/villas any of the monorail resorts would meet your needs. Not much theming at CR but they do have the new Bay Lake Tower opening and those rooms are brand new. CR also has Chef Mickeys in there and the new restaurant, The Wave, which is good too. If you need theming then the Poly or Grand Floridian have some unique offerings. For your girls GF has the 1900 Park Fare; breakfast is buffet with mary poppins and friends and dinner is Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters. Easy monorail access to MK and Epcot from all of these hotels. As you know WL has the boat to MK but sounds like you want something a bit more convenient with some theming thrown in too. Good luck in your decision. They are all great resorts.
