I'm thinking about flying Air Canada because it will end up being $500 cheaper then West Jet but I've heard some negative reviews. Do you think it will be Ok to fly with them or is it worth paying $500 more to fly West Jet?

Thanks

$500 is a lot of money I would take my chances and fly with AC

While West Jet is very nice, inless you are flying for many hours (5+) I would save the money and fly Air Canada. The advantage of West Jet for longer flights is more leg room. I fly Air Canada all the time. As long as you are not looking for frills, you should be fine. On the plus side, they are normally on time, and the level of "service" is predictable. We pack snacks, do not look for meals.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will use Air Canada then. It's only from Toronto to Orlando. And I like that I can fly out at 6:30 rather then wait until 10:30. It gives me a lot more time in the parks! Thanks again.

The most important thing about flying, is the plane takes off and lands safely. Everything else is a frill.

I flew AC this past May - was pleasantly surprised! They had tv's in the back of the seats. Bring snacks - food is terrible. Save the $500 - you'll need it as soon as you walk into any Disney Store! :yay:

the biggest issue with AC is if you have to fly into Toronto, clear customs and change terminals there - it's a zoo. I try to go thru US, now, so I clear customs in Ottawa rather than deal with the headache. And one nightmare incident with AC is all it took (we cleared customs, made it to stand first in line at the gate, and found they had "busted" us - gave our seats away to a standby passenger because they'd made the decision we couldn't make the connection - months arguing with the Ombudsman, etc., until we finally got our out-of-pocket expenses only reimbursed - can't really pay for a 3-year old's disappointment about missing breakfast with Cindy next morning!)

have you considered flying out of buffalo on air tran? we're going that way next month and it's a lot cheaper.

check it out if it's an option for you.

If you live in Toronto, spending the time to drive to Buffalo will likely save you way more than $500. Air Tran, Southwest, and Jet Blue all tend to have cheaper fares than any airline flying out of Toronto, and since you clear customs at the border you spend less time in the airport itself. Just a thought.

we are flying the first week of march and returning march break and the cost was 900 out of buffalo instead of 2500 out of toronto.
No question....out of buffalo.

I believe if the OP wanted to fly out of Buffalo they would. This option to fly out of Buffalo is available for people down east. I believe if we all had the same options as the ones you mentioned a good majority of us would choose to save money. I also believe there needs to be time spent discussing on how to travel out of Canada economically as most of us only have this option available to us.

I do not have the option to fly out of Buffalo. But I am sure that it is more economical but just not an option for me.

Although we have traveled with WestJet to the Caribbean in recent years we have only traveled with AirCanada. In fact if we had a choice between the 2 we would travel Air Canada hands down. Comfortable seats, good service and alway reliable!
