We will be going from 12/10 to 12/15 and staying at POR. Me, DH, our 4 yo triplets, my Mom and Dad. This is what I am thinking as far as dinners - we will have the DDP. We are not planning on hopping, so I have posted which park we plan to visit on each day.

Chef Mickey's (Magic Kingdom)
Le Cellier (Epcot)
Cape May Cafe (AK)
Mama Melrose's (with Fantasmic show) (MGM)
1900 Park Fare (Magic Kingdom)

We are going to try for 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. reservations. I'm wondering if we should try to just go from the park to the dinner (at the resorts).

We have not been to WDW in 15 years - our honeymoon. We cannot wait to take our children. :dance3: Let me know what you think. I can start making my ADR's on the 13th. TIA.

Love Le Cellier YUMMY!!!!

We enjoyed 1900 Park Fare as well for a buffet food was very YUMMY!!

Do you have park hoppers? When was was there early Dec we used the park hopper hopped over to Epcot after the other parks closed most nights therefore still took our normal afternoon break from the parks. Doing that we would have prolly went to dinner from the resort. Without the afternoon break we would have went directly from park to dinner.

Be sure an check what time the parks are closing during your stay you might miss the fireworks at the MK if you want to see them by going to dinner before the park closes possibly the parade too. That aside you have picked a GREAT time to go!!!

Mama Melrose is one of our favorites. We have gone on just about every trip and always enjoy it. We tried Chef Mickeys dinner for the first time last year and were pleasantly surprised. We have had breakfast there many times, and enjoy that very much, but I had heard mixed reviews about dinner. I was glad we tried it and we are going back next month. :thumbsup2

We dined at Le Cellier once and didnt think it lived up to the hype. It was good, definitely not bad, but not great either.

1900 Park is in the Grand Floridian and is being renovated, be sure to check if its open during your dates. We enjoyed our Cinderella buffet dinner there and our 5yo princess loved it and getting dolled up for it!

Cape May is at one of the Beach Club Resorts
Chef Mickey's is at the Contemporary resort

Of your list, we've only tried 1900 Park Fare and we all    it. The food was excellent and the character interaction was great.

The one comment I have about your choice of times is that eating at 5:30 or 6 will mean the Spectromagic parade and maybe even the fireworks, because the parade is at 7 and fireworks at 8 on non-MVMCP nights for those dates. (We're going at the same time! Dec 5 - 16). Our kids are a little older and accustomed to being up late, so we're opting to plan dinners for after closing (8) on our MK days, but a little earlier than you're planning would work as well - use dinner as a break, hop the monorail back to the park for the evening shows, and then head back to your resort.

I would just go from park to dinner if you're eating that early, because the park hours are short enough without taking the transit time to head back to the resort and then back to the park to transfer to the resort where you're having dinner.

Also, while Cape May sounds to be a good choice food-wise, as more information comes out about the TS they're putting in at Tusker House you might want to think about that for your AK day so that you can have dinner at the park rather than dealing with the travel time from park to resort to park and back to your resort. I know when we took DD at 4, we learned after the first day to try to minimize travel time whenever possible. But since they're not taking ADRs for Tusker House yet and don't have a menu available, go ahead and make an ADR elsewhere for that night and make changes later if you want.

Another good option for that night, since you're staying at POR, is Boatwrights at the resort. We really loved dinner there. That way if you finish at AK early - not everyone considers it a full day park - you can head back to the resort, enjoy the pool or let the kids nap, and not have to worry about transportation to your ADR.

Happy planning! :goodvibes

Chef Mickey's (Magic Kingdom) We tried for many years to get into this place and finally did for my birthday this past Oct. The characters were fantastic but the food was horrible, the only thing edible were the prime rib and the mashed potatoes...every thing else was awful. We would not go here again...it was a huge waste of money for us.

Le Cellier (Epcot) Awesome food, the soup and pretzel breadsticks could be a meal all by itself! Mushroom and BBQ filet were a huge hit with us and the side of sauteed mushrooms were out of this world.

Cape May Cafe (AK) For breakfast or dinner this is hands down DH favorite place in all of WDW. THe food is awsome and there is plenty to choose from. It is nice to walk it off by going to Epcot...

Mama Melrose's (with Fantasmic show) (MGM) Went here for the first time in Dec, we were not impressed, the food was very bland and came out lukewarm...not hot. THe server never brought out bread and we asked twice!

1900 Park Fare (Magic Kingdom) Went here for breakfast, not impressed at all. Way to loud and noisy, tables to close together and the food was not great at all. Maybe dinner is better?
