Hi! A good DISer knows to never make a move without consulting the experts. I'm preparing for an upcoming trip on Deluxe Dining and I need one...more....ADR.

Since it will be an MK day (and we're staying at AKL, so going back "home" to freshen up is not happening, so no signatures please) I need a great place to have dinner in the nearby area (MK, MK resorts loop, etc...) I've been stalking the reservations page and it looks like I could get a clear shot at an ADR for either Kona Cafe or The Wave. Since we'll be on deluxe, I've been studying the menu in three categories (apps, entrée, and desserts). I can't make up my mind.

Which would you choose, and why? (P.S. we have a 2.5 year-old with adventurous tastes.)

:goodvibes TIA, Stace

They are quite different from each other: The Wave has an organic, sustainable bent to it. Everything I have had there has been quite good (except for the service.) Kona has steak, chicken, pasta, seafood with an Asian twist. It is less "healthy" and more conventional than The Wave, but everything I have had there has been good--and I am a food snob. Ask for Mel as your server.

My vote is for Kona! We usually eat there during every visit. Have been to the Wave and no one in my family wanted to go back...just wasn't our cup of tea.

Hmm I've been to both and liked both. But my vote is for Kona. Their bread and desserts are to die for! :cloud9:

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and booked an ADR for Kona. There are still a few things I wish I knew... What is your favorite dessert? Are the potstickers the same ones from 'Ohana? Can you order sushi as your appetizer if you're on the deluxe dining plan? Hmmm... I know I have more, but let's start with those. :worship: thanks again!

We love Kona. The Wave was OK but are very picky and they couldn't accommodate. They were not flexible. Plus the portions are laughable. My DH and DS 23 had the filet and they were very unhappy with the size. It couldn't have been more than 4 oz. My fav dessert at Kona is the Chocolate Fondu. OMG Warm melty chocolate and coconut, pineapple, strawberries ect YUMMMMMM!
