We sat down tonight and discussed where we wanted to eat for our 8 TS meals. We are going for 8 nights on the dining plan. We thoroughly enjoyed the plan this past October when it was free. We are a family of 4-DH(31), me(31), DS(will be 3 on this trip), DS(will be 9 1/2 months on this trip). We have planned several character meals because our oldest son eats well at these and is very content due to the entertainment factor.
Our meals: LTT(D), Sci-Fi(L), O'hana(B), 1900 Park Fare(D), Chef Mickey's(D), Garden Grill(D), Donald's(B), and the rumored Disney-MGM character meal. Any suggestions?

Wow! Looks good to me (we also love character meals). The only other one I thought your 3 yo son might like is Whispering Canyon Cafe over at the Wildnerness Lodge.

We enjoyed the Crystal Palace character dinner much more than that at LTT. My boys loved seeing Pooh and Piglet at Crystal Palace and the buffet was very good.

We thought the food at LTT was horrible and over-priced. The environment was sort of ho hum to us as well.

Be sure that your littlest one is taken care of properly at GG. It is important that you let the hostess know, even if it is on your ADR that you need a high chair and will sit at the top level. At the lower level they will not give you a high chair and that spelled trouble for my niece--the hostess actually told my sister to hold the child on her lap while she was eating rather than move us to an appropriate table. It was so unpleasant that my Dad who never complains told me that he would never eat there again!

we absolutely hate the food at sci fi but the rest. got very good reviews so i dont know. chef mickeys is greeat we did 1900 at breakfast and it was awesome

If Donalds is an absolute must then, go for it, but we ate there on 12/23 and it was the worst experience we've had. The mediocre food was all pre-cooked and under heat lamps, the milk and juice is kept cold by sitting in a tub that is sitting on another tub of ice, the server had our bill to us before we even got a chance to go to the cold bar, the characters came to our section ONCE! and it felt like an assembly line.

I'd switch it to Whispering Canyon or one of the other character breakfasts if that is what you're seeking.

Sci-Fi is a neat place and the food is good enough, but it might be a bit overwhelming for the wee ones...it is pretty dark.

I think the rest you are asking about are great choices...what is the supposed character meal in MGM you mentioned?

Since you already planned Chef Mickeys and an Ohana Breakfast you may consider changing the Garden Grill to another Epcot restaurant since you have seen those same Characters twice. I suggest Coral reef for the kids would Love the aquariums and they have really fun kid desserts too. We dont eat seafood but they have great steak, chicken and veggie options too. If you are on the dining plan - it is only 1 credit in 2006.

Forgot to mention- I love the sci-fi. They had great huge burgers and shakes and the atmosphere is phenomenol! Truly Disney! Have fun!

My 2, 4 & 6 year olds loved Sci Fi but the 2 year old does loves monsters (wouldn't go near the face characters though :rotfl: ). The kids had kids meals and the adults had burgers.

I like CP for breakfast better than Ohana's but you may find the family style of Ohana's easier than the buffet of CP.

personally, I wouldnt do Sci-fi, based on the food not being at all impressive. For atmosphere only, how about an oop afternoon break to share a couple of shakes and fries etc...JMO, whatever you do, enjoy!

I had not considered Coral Reef. We are on the dining plan so we will be changing Garden Grill to Coral Reef. Our oldest son loves aquariums. We are annual passholders to the Georgia Aquarium which is a truly awesome experience. Thank you for the recommendation. As far as Donald's goes, that has become a tradition for us. We have eaten there on our last three trips and have always found it to be delicious.
