Opinions for the Parks

Ok,

In a little quirk of fate (Well a planning hiccup) I have managed to put us in the MK on Columbus day, i mistakenly thought it was the 9th and not the 10th.

Well i have two options now and need to get some opinions on which day is likely to the best to visit the MK.

1) Columbus day 10/10 With 10 Closure and Wishes/Spectromagic and go to Epcot on the 11th
or
2) Disney Studios and onto Epcot for Reflections on the 10th and the MK on Weds 12/10 EMH Evening (We are not on site) 9 Closure Wishes/Spectro etc and goto a full day in epcot later in the holiday.

I think the EMH evening day is going to be the lesser of the 2 evils. The majority of the crowds should go home on Sunday to get back to work for Monday or Tuesday, so this would be a safer bet. Its a shame you can't do Epcot instead of MGM on this day because Epcot is better at spreading crowds, but anyway, go for MGM over MK and make sure you're there for rope drop to get ahead.

There is no reason why we cant, i am still throwing what we are doing around a little. I was only thinking of getting in a suitably themed park for the kids in early, i wasnt too sure how the kids and the DW would take to Epcot. We could go to Epcot on the 10th then DS later in the holiday, then the MK on the 12th

I know what you mean, but what worked best for us was doing them in reverse order to what the kids would like, so they wouldn't be dissapointed by epcot before MK. We kind of built up to MK and they enjoyed everything they saw first without being preoccupied about getting back to the castle. Just my opinion though. I'm sure whatever you decide will be good for you.

Wonder if this will work on a 5 park hopper plus

10/10 Epcot including reflections
11/10 Late Start and Blizzard Beach early to bed
12/10 Magic Kingdom including Spectromagic and wishes

We have to kick in the Flex ticket at this point and attend them parks

22/10 Animal Kingdom
23/10 Day off
24/10 Late start Typhoon Lagoon and early to bed
25/10 Magic Kindgdom then onto Epcot late afternoon for Reflections
26/10 Disney Studios
27/10 Late morning and Shopping
28/10 travel home

Rob I would swap your return to Ep from the MK to AK day (normally what we do) even if you are mad about AK (which we're not !!) it still closes earlier than the other 3 - seem to remember 5:00.Also we use the flex pass but would leave it a couple of days later so that it gives you the option of splitting up your last week.
Most guide books recommend ( if kids in the party) doing the parks : Ep,AK,MGM,MK BUT we have always gone MK(that's the official start to the holiday),Ep,MGM,AK but each to there own.Also we have been a couple of times over Columbus day weekend & although busier it is not Summer busy!

Hey Thanks Shooby,

I will go with the Epcot change. Have to look how i can work in a later start on the flex, perhaps bringing a day off earlier. Great advice though.
