I would love to hear everyones opinoins for dinner on our first night. I would like to eat at one of the resorts, as we have never really explored any of them (besides port orleans-riverside).
I have a 5(ds) year old and a 2 (dd) year old. I wanted to try somewhere lively and fun. Not necessarily a character dinner. I was thinking of possible whispering canyon or O'hana. I would love to hear what everyone has to say about these two and any other suggestions as well.
Thanks!

44 days to go!!

When we take our kids we do Chef Mickey's. We also ride the monorail Mk line & Epcot line. Next time we are going to try 1900 park faire at GF. I love O'hanas Haven't tried WC.

Hi Maci-

I recommend 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian for a few reasons. It's a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel, a great way to kick off your vacation. It is a character meal and the food is very good. After your dinner, you could explore the resort for a while, and then take a monorail ride. I think it would be a great way to begin your vacation.

For our first night dinner on our upcoming trip, we will be dining at Ohanas!! I've read many great reviews of this restaurant, but we've never tried it for dinner before! I know my little girl will love the coconut races and the hoola hoops!!!

I think this will be a great way to start our vacation; and we'll probably go down to the beach and try to catch the Electrical Parade!!! I hope to be able to see the MK fireworks while we're eating dinner!! That would be great!!!

Where will you be staying? I see you'll be arriving a few days after us. We'll be staying at the All Star Movies!! Can't wait!!!

Chef Mickey's would be a good choice if you decide a character meal is what you want. I have heard mixed things regarding the food but we thought it was very good and the atmosphere was fun. We always go to House of Blues at DTD for the first night as we usually don't get in until later in the day and then spend time shopping at DTD. It's become a tradition we love and the food there is fabulous!

Thanks for the input.
I read through some other threads and deceided on Ohanas. I had thought of 1900 Park fare, but we are already having breakfast with Cinderella so we didnt want to do dinner too.
I think it will be a fun start to the vacation!!
I got our priority seating ressies today!!

Magic2000, yes our trips our very close we will be there the 19th-26 th and we are going to the halloween party the 24th!! We are also staying at All star Movies!!!
When I say 45 days to go that is from when we are leaving home, we are going to Islands of adventure for a couple of days to see spidey before mickey!!
Thanks for the help everyone!

Our suggestion is the Boma, before you make a PS check with the front desk at AKL and get the the time for Story telling at Arusha Rock (during our last two visits story telling was at 6:30pm). The whole family will love story telling and get a chance to see the animals on the savannah. This way you can get into the Disney magic without having to use a day on your PH or be rushed after a long day of travel.
