I've never used Hotwire before and would like some opinions about the quality of service. Has anyone had a particularly bad experience? I understand how they work--that you don't know the hotel until after you book, its nonrefundalbe, can't be changed, etc. However, has anyone had a bad experience, such as arriving and their reservations aren't in the hotel's system, or being double billed on their credit card? What about the quality of the rooms? Do some of you feel the poorer quality rooms are given to Hotwire users? How are you treated by the hotel? What if there's a problem--can you talk to the hotel or must you call Hotwire? What's their customer service like? Opinions, please!

Hi! I've used Hotwire twice recently with no problems. The first time was in September - I booked the Courtyard by Mariott at Downtown Disney. The room was clean, but not a great view. The second time was early January for the Doubletree Club Orlando. We received a room on the top floor facing DTD Westside and Epcot (even watched Illuminations from our window one evening). Both times I felt we were treated like a "regular" hotel guest - it was never mentioned anytime we visited the hotel desk that we booked through Hotwire. Everyone we encountered at both hotels were friendly & courteous to us. We didn't encounter any problems at either hotel; had we, we would have gone to the front desk as if we had a "normal" reservation. Haven't had a problem with billing either. It's actually nice to have the hotel already paid for when you arrive.
