We decided that we wanted to try a new dinner this summer when we go and thought that OHANA sounded interesting. Can anyone tell me what the dinner is like, how the food is and what their opinions are of it!!!!! Thanks!!!

we went there january a year ago with my great aunt who is 85 and twin 3 year olds. everybody ate well. real well.

it's a fun place with good food and atmosphere. 7 out of 10 stars.

the pineapple and caramel is delicioso.

if you aren't a carnivore you might not be as happy as the meateaters from the midwest!

Great food served family style. Here is a link to their menu, I think...........

There are a lot of things for kids to do, hula hoop contests, coconut races, limbo I think. We thoroughly enjoy it and try to eat there every trip, especially if we are staying at a Magic Kingdom Resort!

WE LOVE IT!! I wanted to try something new this year, but DH insisted we go back! It really is great. A little loud, but great for famlies, not a romantic dinner or anything.

best meal of our trip! Just when the kids were getting edgy, they brought out the coconut races and my husband and I had a few quiet minutes to ourselves. It was great that the kids got their second wind just before dessert. It also helped that I could see the castle from the window, watching it change colors. Afterwards we watched WISHES from the docks... ahhhh.

We love it we took our whole family last time (feb) and had such a great time ,and the foor is yummy, that some in our party returned before the end of the trip.

Thanks everyone for your responses, I think from reading all your post my family has decided it is a must try! So we will go there one nite when we go in July!!!

The coconut races sounds fun we have two kids age 10 and 5 and a big kid age 20 who will love the activites!!!! Thanks Again!

We have a PS for breakfast here, anyone have great breakfast eperiences?
They do still do the coconut races/hula hoops then too don't they?

Great for the whole family. Ask to sit where the kids can see out of the windows... just request at the podium when you arrive.

The food is fantastic!

Remember:
'Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind!

ok we are doing diner at Ohana's in april. My mom did the PS and she loves this place. We have only had breakfast there, which was so yummy. Is the dinner all I can eat?

lilrooster, is it ever! The meal starts with a platter of wontons, fried rice, salad and green beans, as much as you want, they will bring refills of anything you run out of, just ask. The meats come around on skewers, steak, huge tiger shrimp in the shell, turkey, and sausage, again,as much as you want. Finally, when you think you can't eat any more, they bring grilled fresh pineapple with warm caramel sauce! Yum! Make sure to be really hungry when you arrive :)

Just out of curiousity we will have 2 girls with us 15 & 13 (wil they get into the games) or are they a bit too old to participate?

Yes, do go. Great food, the atomsphere, seeing the castle. Make your ressie around the fireworks Wishes and go to your ressie about 1/2 hour before and request a window seat view.

It's a nice place.

A bit of advice. If it is raining out, arrive a little earlier than you normally would. When it rains, the Luau is cancelled and everyone pours into OHana's. I second the response that suggested you be hungry when you arrive, there is soooo much food, it is a great meal.

At breakfast they don't have the hula hoop etc because they have characters. Breakfast is also served family style in skillets. Ohana is one of my families favorite places. Breakfast is good but we prefer dinner because of the atmosphere. Ask for a window seat or a seat in the main dining room so you don't feel disconnected.

I love it and it's really cool when you get a window seat and can look out at the lagoon. The food is great in my opinion and we try as a family to eat there at least 3 times when we visit WDW for a week. It's got a great atmosphere and I love just being able to kick back and stuff myself with some great food. I hope you can go there and see for yourself how great it is! :cool1: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

It is one of our favorites also. My younger ones get involved in the games and the older kids enjoy watching. The view from the window is incredible.
