We have a later flight out at the end of our vacation (5:00pm so DME pick up around 2ish) and we wanted to have a final meal before leaving, starting around the 10:30 to 11:30 time frame. We are staying at SSR and will not have park tickets for the last day. We have 3 kids aged 8, 5 and 2. Any suggestions would be helpful. Like which of the resort character breakfasts do people prefer etc.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

It would depend. Are the kids going to be sad seeing the MK from the Contemporary if you go to Chef Mickey's? Also, I assume you will need WDW transportation so you'll need to catch a bus to the MK for either CM, Ohana's or 1900Park Fare. How will the kids react to not being able to go back into the MK?

There's always Cape May Cafe in the BC for breakfast.

We typically end our stay with late breakfast at Ohana's. When doing sit downs, I prefer either a late breakfast or a late lunch....I think a bit more bang for the buck.

Ohana's is nice since it's on the monorail and it's easy to get to.

I think the kids should be ok, but you never know. I had thought about Cape MAy, but felt getting there might be a little more hassle than the monorail resorts. Ohana is an option, but we will have the dinner there a few nights earlier.

We went to Chef Mickey's during our last trip and really enjoyed it. As far as a buffet, there was a large quantity and wide variety of food so it will be great to tide you over until your flight. The character interaction was great also.

It's been a LONG time since I checked on this but when I was last looking into it there were no character lunch meals at resorts, only in the parks. If that's still true you only have the breakfast option or a non-character lunch option. Double check this before you go much further in your debate.

The Cape May is not bad as character breakfasts go, and the breakfast at the Grand Floridian is one of our favorites along with Ohana... but if you're concerned about the see-the-park-but-can't-go-in thing and you're on a multi-day ticket maybe it is worth considering that to add that one more park day onto the end in order to make a park character breakfast/early lunch would cost $2-3 each (of course nothing for the 2-yr-old)... just something to think about.

How about Spoodles at the Boardwalk? Then you can walk around the Boardwalk and maybe even play a round of mini golf before heading back to your resort for your DME pickup.

Another option is WPG Express in DTD, followed by a bit of shopping before taking the boat back to SSR.

I guess our biggest decision is to figure what we want to do with the rest of our morning. Do we want to monorail resort hop, do DTD, the Boardwalk, or just play around SSR. I can't get my wife to nail anything down at this time. We don't want to go to a park because my parents are leaving that morning (driving) and I don't want to be in a rush to get to a park, but they will be on the road by 10ish so a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's or an early lunch at the Boardwalk (Spoodles), DTD (T-rex) etc would be ok.
