I am trying to figure out where in HS we should have lunch and I was just wondering what everyone thinks is the best sit down at HS?

Thanks :)

We always do 50's Prime Time every visit for lunch. Is it great? Well.... Is it alot of fun with good food... yes!:happytv:

Mama Melrose is good and is the choice for us when we do the Fantasmic Dinner package.

Brown Derby is overpriced for the relatively pedestrian food IMO.

Never ate at H&V

We did 50s Prime Time last year and none of us liked the food. It all tasted like it was a frozen tv dinner. Although the waitress and the theming were enjoyable.

I also vote for Mama Melrose's but I tend to prefer Italian types of food.

I don't know about what is good, but I can tell you we did not like the food at Playhouse Disney at the Hollywood and Vine two years ago. My husband and I both agreed that the food was not good at all.

This time we are going to try the 50s Prime Time. Hoping it will be good.

My vote goes to 50's. I have been there many times and make it a point to go there once a trip (even when I went with camp and school when I was younger I still made it a point to get there).

Brown Derby was disappointing to say the least and although the atmosphere at Sci-Fi is interesting and different, the menu and food were both pretty boring and dull.

Mama Melrose is ok, just not a lot of atmosphere. For the price, we thought there were some better options than Brown Derby. Sci Fi is fun and the glowing ice cubes are cool. Everyone seems to like 50's. We are going to have to try it out.

Brown Derby is the best. We've had several very good meals there.

My second choice is 50's - it is fun and the food is good.

Haven't done H&V at lunch, but dinner was OK - standard Disney buffet.

Mama Melrose = mediocre, overpriced Italian. Think overpriced Olive Garden without free salad and breadsticks.

Sci-Fi was pretty bad. I'm glad we ate there just to have the experience but the food was only so-so. We had a wonderful server though!

I've eaten at:
50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi
Brown Derby

All three were very good.

The food at Brown Derby was excellent and the Grapefruit Cake is wonderful.

We had a nice meal at Sci-Fi, but I didn't care for the seating. I like to be facing my tablemates, so we can talk. Other than that, it was good.

Now, for MY FAMILY, 50's Prime Time is a must-do. The food is great and the atmosphere is so fun!

Just my opinions!

It's not my favorite park for TS at all. We often just do quick serve while we are there and head over to the whole Boardwalk area for dinner. Swan and Dolphin are not on DDP, but they have some great places to dine. The BC and YC also have some good choices. The Boardwalk itself has the brewpub, ESPN, and Flying FIsh. I'm pretty sure ESPN and the brewpub still do mostly - if not all - tables still as walk ups. It' nice to be ableto have one or two TS dinners at WDW that don't require an ADR and being locked into a certain time. I think the S/D do take reservations, but you may be able to get walk up there too.

If you have hoppers it's also pretty easy to hop into the back side of Epcot. it's just a short scenic boat ride (esp pretty at dusk). The back entrance is between GB and France. It's a bit of a hike to get all the way to Mexico, but GB and France are easy enough.

In HS, 50's PT is the only one we sort of like. Be prepared for the playful atmosphere of it though. It's fun to play along, and really is no big deal, but it is supposed to be a playful atmosphere.

Can you do the 50's prime time without the teasing? I am not sure I could take it thats why I have always avoided it.
