Opinion-point value for shared trip?

If it were me, it would either be MF’s for points used or transfer me 30 when you can. If I had points to spare I wouldn’t care about 30, but not everyone does.

The 50% rule is killing me. I have been doing cash stays at the moment to bridge the gap. I have hosted my extended family so many times in large accomodations not blinking about the points, but now not having access to borrow (I am always in potential borrow mode!) I am feeling the crunch. We both don't have 30 points to spare....I wish this rule would finally go away...if it ever goes away!
