Friends of mine are going down in June & they have the free dining, could they use one of their dining options at DTD for Rainforest or the Dino rest?

How fancy is LeC. rest in Epcot? They have 2 kids (4 & 8), the younger one doesn't sit still very well. Would a different rest. be better?

My opinion is they better get on the phone and make at least a few ADRs if they haven't already so they're not disappointed. LeCellier usually starts to fill up as soon as the window opens which is now 90 days out.

I don't think they can use the dining options at Rainforest or T-Rex. Those are Landry restaurants not owned by Disney. I don't even think you can make ADRs using the Disney Dining reservation system (but they do have numbers you can call to make them).

LeCellier isn't "fancy", however, I would consider it a relatively quiet dining spot. I don't think it would be appropriate for kids to be running around the place (although IMHO that should be true of any sit down restaurant) or making excessive noise. As the previous poster noted, if you do go with LeCellier, especially during free dining times, obtaining an ADR there is very competitive.

They have ADR's already. I'm just wondering if they should switch LeC. reserv. On the phone, my friend just asked which rest. the CM suggested in Epcot so she took that one. I'm just wondering if it's too fancy for young kids.

Which Epcot rest. would you recommend?

I wouldn't call LeCellier fancy at all - it's very crowded and noisy because it's packed to capacity, but I think the decor is interesting more so than upscale. We've taken our kids there at young ages with no problems, but then again, we have very strict rules about dining in public and there's just no tolerance for leaving your seat or being rude, etc. It all depends on how they handle the kids - if they let them wander around and such, I'd say no to any sit down restaurant. There's a lot of servers moving about with large trays of food and that could cause chaos.

Rainforest and the Dino aren't on the plan so they are out.

Lecellier books up on the 90 day mark like the PP said. There are plenty of times where that place is booked by noon for that 10 day block.

These friends of yours REALLY need to start calling around TODAY and hope they can get any reasonable meal times anywhere. Do they have the list of the restaurants participating in the dinning plan?

I've taken my kids to most restaurants at WDW. If they act up I take them out of the restaurant. I've seen dozens of kids at LeCellier. The parents are the best judge. They can't run around any restaurant, but one could put in an order and take a walk for 10 mins outside the restaurant and come back later. There are bread sticks that come early that keep kids entertained. My kids won't sit still for an hour if I don't provide entertainment of some source, but they can color or something.

Tell them to remember that the restaurants are kid friendly...we have been to Chefs for dinner and enjoyed it alot and there were plenty of kids there.

I think they should keep the Le Cellier reservation. We've taken our kids at young ages, and there's plenty going on to keep their attention. The servers keep the meal moving along pretty quickly and the kids get several 'courses' -- veggies, entree, dessert, so there's usually some food for them to eat. And, even if the younger child doesn't sit still well at home, that doesn't mean he/she won't at WDW!! Kids are usually so worn out, they're just glad for a chance to rest!

Thanks. I'll go ahead and tell them to keep the reservation that they have. They also have reservations at Tusker House, Hollywood & Vine and the Pooh & Friends character breakfast. So they have some good places to eat. I suggested that while they're walking around DTD to go to Rainforest for an early dinner. Their kids will like that.

My husband and I went to Le Cellier twice on our honeymoon (eight years ago when you could just walk up and dine). We just got back from our Disney vacation with our two sons and my parents. Our must do was Le Cellier and everyone loved it. Our boys 5 and just 2 enjoyed it. There were lots of children there and nobody looks twice if they fidget a little. I say try it out if the adults want it.
