Opinion of Cantina de San Angel?

Don't mean to steal the thread but...Are there two San Angels? Which one is best for Illuminations? I have an ADR for a San Angel (as a newbie, not sure which) in hopes of watching Illuminations. I may have to cancel if it is not the right one. Help!

San Angel Inn is in an enclosed building--no outside view. The Cantina is an outdoor CS next to the lagoon.

We love the Cantina as well. Usually split the combination plate when we have a day that we are just planning to snack around the countries.

I didn't enjoy the one dinner we had at San Angel though. DS wants to give it one more try so we are planning lunch there this trip. May very well end up cancelling that ADR and just eating at the Cantina though.

Just my opinion, but the Cantina is NOTHING like taco bell...much better. More toward all of the authentic Mexican eateries that have popped up over the past few years...Taco bell is much more Americanized than the Cantina.

It's nice to order something from the cantina and then sit and eat by the world showcase lagoon.

But don't expect stellar food. It's just passable (but DW did enjoy the guacamole).

I don't think the food is bad - just don't go when the line is long or you will wait forever.

I have to agree. I won't touch Taco Bell :scared:. I love a good bean burrito from the Cantina though.

My dh LOVES this place! We have to eat here every trip. I am not passionately in love with it, but the food is good and plentiful, and the seating is great right on the water. Its on our do not miss list!

(oh, we hated SAN ANGEL)

We have only had good experiences at this CS. Great change of pace from burgers. I'll agree with PP, def a step above taco bell. Good portions. Adults and kids with us all enjoyed it.

Just like any other CS in WDW it has its good days and bad. When I ate there last May I did not like it at all, but the time before that was Great.

I just don't get it.

50% of the people on the boards love this place, 50% think it stinks and the remaining 50% think it's mediocre! :lmao:

I like it here but it's just my opinion.
