Hi everyone,
We are DVC members at BWV. We really love it there, the convience, the accomodations, and being in the center of the action. Now with a growing family, we want to add more points. We have two options: buying BWV through a broker or buying from our guide at either HH, VB, or VWL. I don't mine buying at VB since the 100% buy back MB there really interests me. I am concerned about the 11 month window. Our guide says that something not to worry about and he says the reason BWV is sold out alot is because it was the newest before VWL. He says the VWL is now being requested more through MS and BW will get easier to get into. I don't know if I believe him after reading all the post of this BB site. So in conclusion, should we add on through a broker with BWV points or Disney with VB points? Keep in mind, the 100% MB at VB vs. the 11 month window @ BW. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

If you plan on spending the majority of your vacations at VB, of course you should buy there.

If you plan on spending the majority of your time at BWV, buying at BWV is your only choice.

It depends:

1. How many are you thinking of buying? If you are getting 150 points or more, the resale market may have something available on BWV; if you are planning to do less than that you may wait forever for anything in the resale market, and thus getting something through Disney is your only choice.

2. Personally, I believe availability at BWV will become somewhat easier as time passes but you are still going to have problems with the 7 month window at many times of year for a long time to come. However, I do perceive one exception to that--if what you plan to do with the Vero points is to add on weekend days to a trip otherwise booked with BWV points, you will probably not have much trouble, as weekend days, even when all other days are long before reserved, are often available for late reservations.

I know how you feel. I would love to add on to our Boardwalk contract but I really don't need 150 more points at this time. So not only am I looking to add on less than 100 points at Boardwalk I would like it to be in my same use year.

I am on a waiting list for a small contract with one of the resale companies but so far I have had no luck.

And I really do like Vero Beach and we usually do split our vacactions between Disney and Vero. So an add on to Vero is most likely our way to go.

That's an interesting point, Drusba. We were planning on adding 150-200 points... I like your thinking on the weekend use with the points. But, would we have to book 11 months out with one set of points, and wait for 7 months to add the weekend to the original ressie? right?

Yes, you would need to book weekday nights 11 months in advance with BWV points and then weekends with other points 7 months out.
