Opinion: FOP is still better than Rise…

Paid for Rise twice this past week. It’s a neat dark ride with a lot of visual elements. But that’s all it is, is a dark ride. I was bored with it by the second go. FOP is still the best ride at Disney in my opinion. The sensation of flight is always thrilling.

Rise of the Resistance is an immersive experience with multiple elements, Cast Members playing active parts, physical sets in the best tradition of classic rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion, the latest in trackless ride technology, and a in-depth storyline that makes you part of the story.

It’s not even close which one is the better ride.

have they changed the ride recently? Every video I had seen of the ride before our trip has a scene where Kylo Ren is standing there and a part of the ship gets blown out behind him. We rode twice and never saw this. Instead it was just a video screen with bad graphics of him piloting his ship and pointed at us

I’m neither a Star Wars guy or an Avatar fan. I just enjoy the sensation of flight more than moving around on a trackless dark ride.

fyi, RotR is 18 mins long. Tough to compete with.

Yeah, I get it, it’s a lot of elements and time for a ride. You get a few different pre-shows which is neat. I guess for me I enjoy the feeling of flying around as opposed to having fake lasers shot at me. The storm troopers still can’t hit a target to save their life

Hard disagree.... but mainly because ROTR doesn't cause day ruining motion sickness LOL. Only way I can ride FoP is if I don't wear the glasses which takes away a lot of the experience. Same thing with Ratatouille

I'm going to really go all in here, I think they are both just o.k. with Rise maybe being a tad better then FOP. That is only because FOP makes me a little sick and I have to spend the whole ride watching sort of out of the side of my eyes and breathing deep. Not worth it for me so I only ride it if there is a shorter than 30 min wait. Rise is fun but I've ridden it maybe 5 times and only twice were all the features working. I'm one of the few who don't find the CM interactions fun, the first time I rode it I was confused because they were rushing everyone along and yelling and it was hard to really take it all in or even understand where I was supposed to go. I don't need the being yelled at rushed, I do like the pre-shows and the actual ride.

....I'm one of the few who don't find the CM interactions fun, the first time I rode it I was confused because they were rushing everyone along and yelling and it was hard to really take it all in or even understand where I was supposed to go. I don't need the being yelled at rushed....

...agreed. It was sensory overload; we were rushed too and didn't really know where to look first. The part where you see the 50 or so Storm Troopers, we were rushed so fast, I almost fell down.
