Hope I'm not overstepping rules posting this.
There is a new charity which is being started by photographers called "Operation: Love Reunited" at oplove.org
It is an effort to raise the morale of deployed troops.
Photographers are donating 2 photo sessions to families of soon to be deployed or deployed troops in the War. These are session-fee free with no obligation for the family to buy. The photographer sends an abum of photos to the soldier once they are at their station overseas. (At the photographers expense). The 2nd session is photos of the family at the homecoming, so the family can enjoy the moment and let someone else worry about taking their photos.
I just wanted to pass the information along, in case you know families with deployed soldiers, or those who have recieved their orders and will be deploying soon.
Most photos if not all photos of the first session must be of the soldier in uniform, or have a patriotic theme to it.
It is a pretty new charity, so some areas do not have alot of photographers... but as word spreads, so will the amount of people volunteering.
