We did a girl 5-9. We put in a face towel, wash cloth, tooth brush, tooth paste, pens, markers, puzzle, small doll, bracelet, lip balm, baby powder, soap, hair clips. crayons, journal, and playdoh. There may have been a few more things, but I forget. Last week was our drop off.

I'm doing a girl 5-9 too. I have about a half a box full and am going to finish up on Tues. I'm looking for some new ideas.

I have a little girl and a little boy. Haven't gone shopping yet but I'm planning on going to Walmart this week and getting some things. I always have so much fun filling my boxes. Plan on getting some small toys, craft supplies, hygiene items, cards, and things like that but hopefully will get some good ideas from this thread!:thumbsup2

I turned all of mine in today at church so I can't remember exactly what was in them but they were all for girl age 5-9. I know they had, soap, candy, wash cloths, socks, barettes, hair brush and comb, stuffed bear, crayons, toothpaste and toothbrush, coloring book, flash cards, puzzles, and a random assortment of small toys.

We did it one year when my godson was in high school. It costs a fortune to fill up and we just looked for small things. I think I spent close to $40 on it.

Mine are usually about $10-$12 a box! Thats why I do a few! :thumbsup2

We always do boxes for boys because the coordinator at our church said that every year about 80 percent of the boxes dropped off are for girls :confused3 Boys are fun to shop for too!

For boys (5 and over) we put in things like a solar calculator and some school supplies (basics like pencils and sharpener but also some cool looking pens and colored pencils and notepads), sunglasses, yo-yo, silly putty, hackey sacks, beach balls, mini magnadoodle, dental hygiene stuff, washcloth.

We remove some items from their packaging so we can fit more in the boxes.

I try to alternate from year to year boys one year girls the next but I must admit, I do end up doing girls more often. I only know girls. we don't have many boys in our family and I have an extremely hard time filling up a boy box, especially when they don't allow any type of pirate swords or GI joe military type toys. I just didn't grow up around a lot of boy stuff and we don't have many boys in our family, so the boy boxes are harder for me.

My kids did 3 boxes and my Girl Scout troop did 3. We bought most of the stuff at Dollar tree.

We are doing 4 boys. Since we have 3 ds I cant figure out the girl stuff. Our drop off is sunday. I just went to the dollar store and got the puzzles, foam football, toothbursh, toothpaste, stuffed animal, jolly ranchers so far. I will probably hit walmart for the rest of the stuff. Our boxes are big since our ds have big feet. I enjoy doing this each year.

We do this every year and now I think we're getting good at it. LOL! We did a girl and a boy, both ages 5-9. In both boxes: crayons, colored pencils, small notebook, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap, hard candy, small etch-a-sketch, and a harmonica.

In boy box: Toy airplane, yo-yo, toy elephant, and a small stuffed mouse (it was cute!)

In girl box: A pink "My Little Pony," some barrettes, a small hairbrush, a small doll, a small stuffed dog, and a Slinky.

I will say it was a challenge to fit everything in the box, but we did it. Yay! Also, this year, you can go online and register your boxes and it said they will send you an email and let you know where the box goes. So that was really cool! We turned ours in at our church last Sunday.
