Opening night for MVMCP

Anyone have any experience with this night? Im flip flopping between this night and 11/29. Is opeing night busy? TIA!

We went to our first MVMCP last year on the first party night. I thought it was VERY CROWDED. We were very disappointed and really wondered what Disney's "limit" of tickets sold was. The place was packed. I cannot imagine the party on a "sold out" night. The crowds didn't even seem to let up late at night.

That said, we are going for an extended Thanksgiving weekend trip again this year and that first party is the only one we can make before our flight back Mon. night. I bet that is what a lot of people do, and that is why the heavier crowd on that first party. I would definitely do another night, rather than the first, if I had the chance.

I subscribed to TGM specifically for tips and hints on the party. Hopefully if we follow his advice and do things a bit differently this time, we will have a better time. It does seem like we did do things his way last year (unknowingly) and it was still pretty much a bust. If it's not better for us this year, this will be the LAST MVMCP for us.

Our very first MVMCP was the first one being held in 2002. I thought it was crowded too. I also didnt plan well. It was before I was on the Dis, before I knew you could get in at 4 with your party ticket. I made a PS for Tony's so dinner would end a little before 7. At 6:45, we wandered out towards Main Street. I thought they didnt open the gates again until 7pm, so you can imagine my shock when I saw mobs of people all over Main street and people ALREADY lined up 3 deep for the first parade. Last year we went to the 2nd and 3rd parties. ANd this year we are doing the 2nd one on Tuesday night.
