Opening day strategies?

The parking structure opened at about 6:20. We hung back around the M&F bathrooms as the signal was good and got BG 44 for RotR.

Currently there are two lines in the tram route, one for if you came from Harbor entrance and one if you came from M&F. We are right at Magic Way.

I'm confused about people coming from harbor going to the tram route. It's been a while since I've been to disney and I've only come in on the harbor side once. I can not picture why you would go from harbor all the way to the tram lines by M&Fs? Can you explain? We'll be staying on Harbor when we come so I want to make sure I'm prepared!

I haven't seen anyone else come from the Harbor side getting in line over on the tram route so I dont know if no one is coming in(doubt it) or if they're routing them somewhere else.

Admittedly, I can't see much from my vantage point.

They must have done it just to stage people. But I admit, there could have been other options than to bring them over.

Oh! at the end of the tram route. I was picturing at the beginning, at the structure, waiting to get on the tram. I was thinking that was a ridiculously long walk just to take the trams back to the esplanade!

All of the castmembers were lined up and saying hi and welcome back/home!!!! They let us in an hour early. It was phenomenal!!!❤❤❤ I love seeing the parks back up and running.

Definitely an exciting day. Glad they let you in early with so many lined up so early.

At WDW, they've consistently opened the gates 45 minutes before official park opening since reopening. Hopefully that's something they do at DL as well, really seems to spread out guests waiting in lines outside the parks.

I cannot believe there are 20K people in the park today. It seems to me they are starting slowly and working out the kinks. Half an hour ago, there were exactly TWO people in line to get into DL!

The wait times today look fantastic! Is there any real reason to be in line before 7:30 am? Aka, those who are onsite or arrived early, would you have missed anything if you slept in a little more?
