While we're waiting--are you hoping for a 3 night or a 4 night, and why? I have a bunch of possible dates and I keep waffling about the length. The 3 nighter/weekend dates are tempting because we could do a long school weekend in Sept. and save some $$$, but I'd like to try all dining rooms and lumiers or Palo which means a 4 nighter.
We are doing the 4 night. While we go to WDW yearly (or more frequently some years), we are not regular cruisers. Before kids, my wife and I took 3 cruises (Disney Dream, a carnival, and a princess) and loved them. We haven't cruised since having kids though. That said, we want to get as much out of the cruise as we can. My kids will be 6 and 3 when we go, and we don't know when we'll go again. 3 nights feels like a quick trip whereas 4 gives it some time for us to feel 'at home' and get to see more without rushing.
We'll also probably stay a few days at WDW before the trip as our APs will still be active until August 14th 2022.
I hear you on wanting to try the new restaurants and Palo. We absolutely would if we didn't have the kids with us. We have never done any sort of 'kids club' drop off with them, and perhaps will consider it to have brunch at Palo or Enchante if that's offered (haven't looked into it yet; not sure we'll be comfortable but we'll see).
