I'm with you here. Sure, I've got it on HD home video, but I'll miss the smells and the cool air rushing by when you're near the river or ocean surf.

But I suppose it was time. I've got friends who won't ride it if they're in the parks for just a day. "Once you've rode it, you've rode it." Not my opinion, but probably the opinion of many. Still, I'm looking forward to checking this out. You KNOW it's going to be awesome with all the HD tech available and over 15 years to learn how to do one of these right.

Nostalgia is good but change can be good as well. Looking forward to seeing this new version but as has been said the feeling of the breeze and the smells has always made this a special must do ride.

I'm so glad they decided to keep the iconic Soarin' score at least. That music is arguably more important to me than the film is.

Well they haven't been refilling the scent sprayer for a while now, so slightly less great experience going away will make new version seem that much better.

I think they must have to buy the scents in huge quantities and slightly underestimated how much they needed to finish when placing the final orders.

I think they should put in the new version for 2-4 years and then bring back the CA version on once screen. That way you can pick. And if you're there multiple days, experience one version one day and the new version on another day.

Anybody able to obtain a thread of the new ride yet? There are a few online and they're different. Not sure which if any is a true flick.

Does anyone know if it will be down for any time before the cHange? We'll be there June 11-15 and while I'd love a soft opening of the new version I really just hope it's open either way. Thoughts?

I think they were just talking about this on the podcast this week. I don't know that there is any official word of the closing date, but the date of May 31 came up as a possible.
