opening ceramony at parks???????

What parks have an opening ceramony and are they worth it? We have seen the one at the MK with the train coming into the station. We really liked that one. Are there others at the different parks?

If your there for opening then you will be close to the front of the ride queues and will get tons done before the sleepy heads arrive. You can leave at lunchtime for a break knowing you have done as much as possible so if you come back later you can take it nice & slow.

Personally all of that is worth more than an opening ceromony to me but if you get to see that aswell then thats a bonus!

I thought that MK had one, but on our last trip, we never saw it. TWICE we were there at opening and were treated w/nothing more than just music.. no characters waving or anything . Did see the AK opening show though..

AK does have one, it takes place right in front of the tree of life. Although we make many of the early openings, can't remember seeing any others. Maybe because I am in commando mode to make it to the first ride!

We were there in Decemeber and MK had one. I believe we got there at 8. The music started and the train came with Mickey and the gang. Can't wait to see what will happen in October.

I believe, at MK, you can readily miss the special opening stuff if you're in the wrong place. Main Street is pretty long, and generally folks tend to end up towards the Castle, waiting for rope drop, while the goings-on are more often by the train station.

AK is very cute. We enjoyed it. I can't remember what they did at Epcot but I know it involved a family being chosen to do something.

At MK, if you are standing near the front of the crowd, really close to the train station or even underneath it, you won't be able to see the train above you for the opening ceremony. But then you will be able to be one of the first ones in, so it's up to you!

At EPCOT in Dec, there was a double-decker bus (from the U.K.) full of characters. I don't remember exactly, but I think they drove up to the main gate, waved, and sang a song.

i love the opening ceremonies! we saw them for the first time last year,can't wait to see them again this year. they really get you in the disney mood.we were at mk and epcot at 8:00,we were right up front to see the opening ceremonies.

MK train station welcome is at 848am or 755am (for morning EMH).

At AK there is a character bus. Mickey also appears on the Tree of Life. Dh really likes the opening at AK. Epcot also has a character bus. I think this opening is really cute. I can't remember what is done at DS.
