Open Reservations in the Morning?

Anyone else noticing the open Disneyland park reservations that are happening every morning?
I am thinking that the people with Disneyland reservations for the day try for the Rise of the Resistance boarding pass and if they do not get it, they cancel their reservation for the day. Which opens up a few spots.

Now of course the still sell out rather quickly from new reservations, but something I noticed the past couple of days.
Is this possible?

Im guessing they hold some back and release them late. Maybe for locals who want to stop by last second?

Very interesting. I think the fine print says they need to be canceled by 11:59PM the night before. But, since aren't talking about APs, it's not clear how they can enforce this. At WDW, you can easily cancel in the morning and APs./Vloggers report picking up reservations same day.

I picked up a Dland reservation this AM for this Saturday that I didn't see open before.

It seems quite a few dates opened up for May. When I looked yesterday all the available dates only allowed DCA as a starting park. Now you can choose.
