Oops-removing this just in case!

Dont feel guilty- consider that the TA perk! You have probably spent alot of time on the phone making ressies and on the boards doing research. I think its only fair. Your sister might not even notice any difference.

Naaa....I agree and would just consider it a perk for being their TA...LOL! Actually, some of our gang stayed in 2138/2140, had no complaints, loved the location and being lulled to sleep by the hum of the engines. We loved the convenience, smooth sailing on deck 2 and cat 9 cabins!

Enjoy!

......Anyway...I booked 2 sets of connecting rooms on deck 2 for our families. When the TA called me, my family was assigned "noisy" rooms to the rear of the ship (2138,2140) and my sister's family got more mid ship, non "noisy" rooms (2602,2604). I called the TA back and had him switch the rooms so we would have what I think is the better rooms.

I am very happy with our new location but feel so guilty.:guilty: Am I a horrible person for doing this? She is just happy to be on the ship and probably won't even comment on the location or the noise.

You are not a horrible person...you have more than earned the right to select the location of the rooms! Your sister's lucky to have you do all the work....have a great cruise!!

I guess I would say... how would your sister know that YOUR room is not noisy, too, unless you tell her. You know what I mean?

I too make all the arrangements for my sister's family when they travel with us. They are very appreciative and joke that they have their personal travel agent. I know my sister encourages me to make the first pick on things where there is a choice since I am doing all the leg work.

The TA just arbitrarily assigned the rooms. If she would have asked first which you wanted assigned to whom, you may not have felt as guilty, picking the one you wanted. I think it is the perk of making all the travel arrangements to get first choice. I enjoy doing the research and making the travel arrangements, but it does take time. I don't think you should give it a second thought.

p.s. One other thing -- I wouldn't even bring up the room as noisy. I was in a room that was supposed to be noisy and it wasn't. And I have read others mention the same. I think it's the luck of the draw to some extent. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone! I sort of felt like since I was doing all the work and making the reservations I should have first choice. The TA had no problem switching them for me. I guess I should think of it as a perk for being my sister's personal travel agent.

My DH keeps joking with me that our room will be condemned or something when we get on the ship or that my sister will end up with some great upgrade on her rooms.

Thanks for making me feel better about it. You guys are great!:goodvibes

Okay- April 2005 is pretty far away- Maybe there are some good cabins left. Get your map of the ship and go to
http://www.cruise-locator.com/
Find your sailing- then follow along, enter number of people for 1 of your cabins... then choose category and hit select and it will show you all the cabins available for that category- I know it is impossible to ask a travel agent to list every cabin and research it's "noisy" factor...
Check it out and then talk to your TA about a switch
Good luck
