OOP expenses on DDP question....

Might be a dumb question but....If you order something that's NOT on the DDP with your meal, are you just able to pay OOP at the end of the meal? I'm asking b/c my kids might want dessert at a TS where they aren't allowed one on the plan. Is that something we can pay cash for, or does it go on your room card also?

Any non-covered item will come as a separate check from the covered items. This check can be paid with any normal payment method (cash, room charge, cc, gift card, etc).

Yes you can. On my last trip, we'd often get desserts or appetizers that were not part of our dining plan or in addition to what we ordered that was on the plan.

As an aside, kids are allowed desserts at TS, just generally not the ones off the adult menu. On the main point, though, the other posters are correct -- your final check will have plan-covered items zeroed out, and anything remaining, including gratuities, can be paid by the usual methods (cash, credit card, gift card, room charge, etc.)

Don't forget to budget for gratuities as well.
